Great location, beautiful views. We were upgraded to a room that was a downgrade. Our room had a fireplace that you couldn't see due to a cramped room. Bathroom was bigger than the main room. Strange.

The Inn at Perry Cabin by Orient-Express is a spectacular choice for a relaxing vacation on Chesapeake Bay. Upon check-in, the staff was exceptional and helped us settle in with a bottle of wine and cookies. The rooms are gorgeous: designed in a classic Chesapeake Bay/New England coastal theme, use the highest quality materials, have large balconies overlooking the bay, and have bathrooms to die for. The food at Sherwood’s Landing is spectacular. Make sure to try their amazing blue crab soup, oysters, and scallops! My wife and daughter were very pleased with the Afternoon Tea service with champagne. Finally, the spa is top notch, and provides unlimited SMORES for children in the evening out by their brick firepit. Overall, if you plan to visit the Chesapeake Bay, The Inn at Perry Cabin by Orient-Express is without question the best property in the area and will provide your family with excellent memories.

Room Tip: The master suites overlooking the bay are gorgeous.

Beautiful hotel, very tasteful renovation by Laura Ashley, even if you don't like her style, in this case it is very well done ! The service was very good and the food at the Bar and at the restaurant was excellent. A little disappointment with the breakfast though, I don't think they should serve croissant...they were really bad (I'm french !!) otherwise, good omelet !
The overall ambiance is very warm, you almost feel at home, you can chose between different small and cosy living rooms most of them with fireplaces, most of them gas, but a real one in the Bar, and that was our favorite place in the hotel, we were there on a very cold week end ! We stayed in Room 49, far from the reception (which is what I've asked for) therefor very quiet with a beautiful water view ! We will definitively go back in the spring !

Room Tip: If you want peace and quiet, room 49 was perfect, with a very nice terrace

We stayed at the Inn at Perry Cabin for 2 nights over Thanksgiving. We were traveling with 2 teenagers and requested 2 adjoining rooms. They were both lovely rooms with water views and great furnishings and bedding. The problem was the two rooms each had their own doors with locks and then a pair of doors that closed off our two rooms from the hallway - but those doors did not have a lock and did not close completely. We did not feel like we were with our kids if we kept the separate doors shut, but did not feel secure or private if we only shut the hallway doors. We had tea in the library one afternoon - it was a nice break from the day. We had dinner one evening in the main dining room and visited the spa as well. All were great additions to our stay. The hotel is more of a relaxing, quiet destination - not a place for lots of activities or action. Although we were charged a $40.00 per room per night "activities" fee - not sure what that covered. I wish I had don more research and determined that this is not for families - rather couples looking for a quick getaway.

We had stayed there several times before. Warning, things have gone down hill. TV's from the early 80's, cold fireplaces that don't emit any heat and are cheesy, if you are on the ground floor you better hope no one is above you, the staff is powerless to do anything about your issues. But, it is in St. Michaels, and the views are great.

I was lucky enough to have a business meeting in order to experience the Inn. The room was huge with a fantastic view of the water. The presentation setting for the meeting of a group of 45 or so was very comfortable . The food and restaurant setting was also excellent. The staff went out of their way to make everyone comfortable. Definitively want to go back in the summer.

We traveled to Perry Cabin in 2011 for Thanksgiving weekend and decided to come back in 2013 and bring one of our sons and his family. Our one bedroom suite had a much smaller bedroom than in 2011. Our son and his family were in an adjoining room which was reached through a common foyer. We should have been able to close and lock the main foyer double doors to the hall and leave our respective doors open for easy access to the living room. Unfortunately the locks were broken and if you shut the doors you could not open them to get access to the hallway.
We managed to deal with the problem even though it was inconvenient. We reported problem to front desk. I cannot believe this was not taken care of before our arrival as cleaning staff must have known of broken lock!

In 2011 we had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner in the dining room and it was served family style whether 2 people or more. Dinner this past Thanksgiving was not served family style and they must have a different chef as the food was so so and not great. I believe our waitress had never served a dinner before as she was clueless about the menu and the order of service. Our drinks never came until after the first course (soup, you had choice of 2) was served. That meant no cocktail before dinner! I had to ask for our bottle of wine we had ordered after our main course was served and finally it was brought out when we were almost halfway through our dinner. By the way she had no clue to the difference between the scarlet carrot soup and the turnip soup and completely mixed up everything everyone ordered. I can only say the service and the meal were second rate at best, certainly not even close to what we experienced in 2011 . The spa service was not the same as before either. At best I would now give this property a 3 star rating. By the way, they need to upgrade their computer system as far as billing as it makes no sense when you try to figure out where your credits for spa and breakfasts are when you have Amex Platinum Card amenities . Beautiful setting but disappointment as far as food and services.
