Bet that's a record! My husband and I were visiting last weekend and simply fell in love with Bistro! Excellent service, delectable food, lovely ambiance, what more could one ask for? We became local celebrities overnight since we made it a mission to try as much of their food as possible in 2 days! Deborah, the owner, is so personable, she even offered to send someone to the nearby grocery store for us while we were dining in case it would be closed when we left. Turned out we didn't need to, but it was an extremely generous offer.
Our 2 gentleman servers and Samantha were equally wonderful and tended to all our dining needs with friendliness and attention to detail, making our dining experience so fun and memorable.
I don't know how Bistro was with the previous owners, but these folks know what they're doing. We will definitely go back next time we decide to visit St. Michaels.

Thanks to everyone for a great time!

SIncerely,
The Hunters

“Service with a Smile”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013

After a long cruise on the Bay, just now have time to reflect on our travels. Several weeks back, on the recommendation of a friend, my wife and I tried the Bistro. The food, ambiance and wine were excellent. What we recall most vividly was the service provided by an upbeat and knowledgable server. Although the restaurant was crowded, we felt as though we were her only customer. Her name escapes us (maybe Sally or Sam), but she left us with a very favorable impression of the restaurant and St. Michaels for that matter. First class food and service. The next time we pass through town we'll be sure to have a meal at the Bistro.

“Dinner was fabulous but Tom, our server, made it memorable!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

Dinner was fabulous but our server, Tom, made our evening memorable! 4 out of 5 of us had the crabcakes and all agreed that they were delicious...awesome Maryland crabcakes served with bacon and heirloom tomatoes over baby arugula. Tom gave us lots of tips for touring the area and was so friendly...he was great! We sat upstairs which was nice but therrcc whole restaurant had a fun vibe. Everything on the menu sounded wonderful and I hope to return someday soon to try the seafood risotto that our 5th friend had. The Bistro was a hit for this group of ladies here to bicycle the area!

Good food but it was so busy the only place we could sit was at the bar but I guess that got us the food quicker. Pricey but good.

“pretty food, good service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

What can you say when the restaurant is attractive, the food is good, plating is very aesthetic and I still had an uncomfortable feeling about the place?

The staff, that's what. I felt too hovered over by the two staff in the dining room. They both asked us too many times how we were enjoying the meal. Once would have been just fine. On taking our order, the server commented on how excellent, splendid, super, etc. everyone's choices were. Yes, this is a good technique but it was way way way overplayed and I felt like I was in a skit for SNL. It's not effective when overdone. They were a bit too chatty and 'oh my, how charming you guys are'. We were not charming and the one person in the party who engaged them was quite obnoxious.

Tone it down ladies. Welcoming and warm is good but don't overdo it.

Other than that, and the higher prices than the food justified, we had a very decent meal in a small and pretty dining room. I liked the rockfish main course--done just right, on a bed of buttery vegetables. The veggies were drowning in a little too much butter. They need to work on the balance.
