We enjoyed sitting in the Tavern area of the restaurant and chose entrees from both the regular menu and the Tavern menu. The food was delicious and included locally-sourced ingredients. Even though the menu wasn't extremely long, there was enough variety from which to choose starters and our main course. The wine list included enough options (both varietals and prices) to pair something appropriate with our meal. For dessert, we chose the coffee butterfinger ice cream and the peach sorbet, both made in-house by the sous chef, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was very nice, not overly loud even though we sat next to the bar and the hostess stand, and the staff were all very attentive and personable. A great experience all around!

Friendly with prompt attentive service but for all the good service the food is not quite as good as it sounds or is priced. The dining room is pleasant and quiet enough to carry out relaxed conversation. Probably competitive with others in town but if you are looking for an over the top dining experience this is probably not it.

Very attractive setting, intimate but not noisy. Food was interesting and good. We had a nice fried calamari with two spicy dipping sauces that set off the flavor nicely. Main dishes of sesame-crusted tuna and seafood pappardelle were very well put together in terms of flavor and texture and beautifully presented. Our best meal overall during this vacation.

My husband and I visited St. Michaels for several days. On the first night, we ate in Bistro St. Michaels (which is very good!) and then started chatting with the manager about where else she might recommend in town. She graciously suggested 208 Talbot and even called over to make us a reservation for the next night. Very lucky - because otherwise, even though we drove by 208 a few times, we might not have had the good fortune to eat there. (It is on the edge of town) The decor is fun and lovely, tables have good spacing around them, the servers are delightful, and the owner/chef makes himself visible to guests. Great menu, many terrific choices (don't miss the Asian pork lettuce wraps as a starter and any of the fresh grilled fish entrees), just a lovely environment. We ended up eating at 208 a second time and it was a pleasure to be remembered like old friends when we arrived 2 nights later. A first -class spot.

We wanted to have a very special day for our anniversary. A neighbor suggested St. Michael's, and another neighbor 208 Talbot. The atmosphere is very cozy, the service incredible and the food was really gourmet. My son relished his soup, and my salad was incredible-spinache, pecans, bacon (cubed) and a very light dressing. The surprise was a melted ball of fied cheese on top. My blackened Mahi-Mahi was served on spinach and the most incredible cheese grits with crab meat on top and a bed of spinach. The plating was beautiful. Hubby had Tortialla soup, and a fish and pasta dish.
If we had it to do again we would have taken advantage of the Chef's wine pairings.
A warning, it is a very popular restaurant, intimate, reservations are suggested for parties of six or more, and although we walked in without a reservation, we realized we were very lucky.
