We make it a point to have lunch here every time we visit SM. Pub food doesn't get any better. My turkey Rubin was a 10. Burgers are always great. Few downsides if any. They cut the breakfast menu off around noon and you either order breakfast or lunch but no mixing both types of orders at your table. Staff serves the food crisply and the lunch meals won't break the bank. Like most pubs the place is noisy but so what! Who goes to a pub to sleep. Bill B.

This was a good stop where you didn't have to have a huge meal of seafood. A pleasant atmosphere with pub food and good service. The fried pickles were the highlight.

Great cream of crab soup, crab balls, and onion rings for an early lunch. Good service. Will come again.

Although I have been to the Carpenter Street Saloon many times on visits to St. Michael's Maryland, last evening was a little different (July 11th). We were attending the Chesapeake Ghost Walk in St. Michaels when my diabetic husband's sugar level dropped drastically. I left the tour and ran the 3 bloods to the Acme only to find it closed. I ran across to the Saloon and asked for anything with sugar in it. When the bartenders heard my reason for the urgent sugar drink, they immediately got me a coke and would not accept money. Not only is their food great, but their kindness and compassion last evening will always be remembered.
PS - the Ghost walk was great also.

This is a pretty basic restaurant / pub. There is an unusual wall separating the two halls of the bar. A winch on the ceiling can be used to lower a wall to convert the establishment into two separate establishments. This was one of the only restaurants we found that serves breakfast in town. The food at both domineering and breakfast was good and we were seated promptly for both meals.
