I read some really good reviews on Trip Advisor so I was hoping for a nice meal. I was disappointed. I guess the other places in St. Michael's are really bad if this place is getting good ratings. There were four of us who ate here for lunch. Three ordered crabcake sandwiches. One ordered the fish and chips. The fish was good. That was the only thing on the table we liked, aside from the bloody marys. The fries were not cooked thoroughly or they were reheated. Either way, they weren't good. The buns on all three crabcake sandwiches were burnt. I can't believe they would serve them like that. The crabcakes were flavorless with too much bread filler.

The atmosphere was nothing special. Maybe it's better at night. Our waitress was efficient; not friendly or welcoming. If you want a good bloody mary, you can try this place. But if you're hungry - I don't recommend it.

We are in Saint Michaels about once a month or thereabout. We normally try the same old (likely) touristy spots, but came into Carpenter Street a few months back. We have eaten here at least 3 times, and every time we go in, we like it more and more. Interesting items on the menu -- specials -- always a very friendly and local bar scene. The food has always been very good and the service is even better -- extremely attentive wait staff, even when really busy. You will NOT get that from any of the other popular establishments in town (think Ava's -- "A" stands for Awful Attitude). Very understandable why this is a hands down local favorite. I'm sure they wish the visitors would leave it alone and not talk about it --- but we've been there for some great meals, and I hate to see others miss it for as long as we did. Comfortable - inviting -- and a really good meal in a cozy spot.

No trip to St. Michaels, MD will be complete unless you stop by the "C" Street Saloon. The neighborhood bar atmosphere is a delight to experience. This place serves breakfast, lunch and dinner - each has modest prices with very good food quality.

While traveling to St. Michael's in the off-season, not all of their eating establishments are open. This one is ... and is excellent for lunch. All our selections were delicious (2 Cuban sandwiches, 2 fried oysters, soup). And those bloody Mary's ... ooh la la, were they good! Just the right amount of spice! Excellent, personable waitress. Food served hot. We were not as pleased with their breakfasts. Don't order the corned beef hash. Coffee was good!

We stopped in first time on a busy Saturday. We made the mistake of entering on the saloon side. Live music was ok, but much too loud for the small space. We were not greeted and there was no service. We left. On Sunday we found the dining entrance. It was quiet, we were greeted right away, service was attentive and the food was tasty and of good value. There are lots of other places on Talbot. Don't let it bother you if this pace is busy, just move along.
