Been visiting St Michaels for 20+years. Nothing special there for a foodie, till AVA's! Freshly made potato chip appetizer with blue cheese and Old Bay. Have tried similar before in Charleston, but the addition of the Old Bay was marvelous. Fried Local Oysters in wasabi panko with a ponzu sauce tasted like delicious sweetbreads. Beautiful home made ravioli. Excellent bread- Incredible salads. Fresh, well presented and a knowledgeable staff. Did I mention a good craft beer selection and well chosen wine list. Looking forward to another visit and get to the wood fired pizza!

Some of the best pizza I have ever had! Great Service with a friendly atmosphere. I liked it so much that i attempted to eat there on back to back days but unfortunately had to pass on the opportunity due to the 40 minute wait time for seating.

This is a "mid range" restaurant with great food. The prices are moderate and the service is great. Very friendly staff

I visited Ava's tonight for the first time. Celebrated daughter's 20th birthday. Everything was declicous. Highly suggest their call ahead add to waiting list (Not Reservations). The secret is out about this wonderful old world style pizzeria. Walk-in wait list was an hour but it is well worth the wait. We called ahead and wait was only about a half hour. We were a party of 5. There's a great open-air outdoor dining experience at the back of the place which I didn't know about until we left (daughter dropped me and other guests off at front). A little nippy for outdoor dining tonight but the rustic firepit and secluded spot it is in make it a great area for drinks and chatter. As I understand it this area is a wonderful place for folks with dogs. This evening we were seated indoors away from the bar area. The bar was full all night. The hostess, the wait staff, and the bartender were very attentive during our dining experience. We had boardwalk fries with Old Bay (that's Crab Seasoning for non-locals), the bbq shrimp w/a scrumptious buttery garlic dip and fresh sliced homemade old world style bread. Crisp Salad w/very fresh field greens w/marinated pear, walnuts, arugala and yummy dressing. Butternut squash soup (w/Amazing spices) 4 varities of their wood fired pizza which is out of this world. Desserts were excellent too. We had bread pudding, oreo cheesecake, and their "Eastern Shore Beignet" with 3 types of dipping sauces, chocolate, rasberry and cream cheese. Apps, non-alcoholic drinks, pizzas, and desserts were just over $100 for 5. Worth every penny. Highly recommend this wonderful old world style pizzeria. Right in our own backyard on Maryland's Eastern Shore. You usually don't find italian cuisine like this except in metropolitan ares. Chef and owner is from Bethesda so that would explain the excellent cuisine and outstanding service. Special thanks to "Tater" for his delightful charm and for making us the best pizza ever. I will be a repeat customer.

Went for lunch and had Mediterranean wood fired pizza which was out of this world. Casual; good service; probably best for lunch. Not a whole lot of atmosphere but nice bar area.
