We enjoyed our trip to Tilghman Island very much, although the bus driver who was scheduled to meet us there forgot about us. Someone eventually showed up, and we took a little tour around the place.

We loved the Chesapeake Bay sunset view. Lots of places to walk and just soak in the fresh air. Very rural and green.

We traveled to Tilghman Island in the past and are looking forward to another relaxing week there. Time slows down, you get to enjoy good food and time with your family. For a small island, there are great restaurants in different price ranges.

Our son, daughter-in-law and two grandkids took us to Tilghman Island as part of our year long celebration of our 50th anniversary. It was a splendid weekend. I had been to Tilghman before...years ago but never stayed. We rented a nice house right on the water...incredible sunsets. A wonderful little country store with farm fresh eggs, terrific applesmoked bacon and the New York Times (if they're sold out there is also a bait shop a minute down the road that has them too. Lazy times walking and driving every little back street (takes about 30 minutes tops), bike riding is splendid. You can fish successfully off the piers behind the house. There's a drawbridge that opens frequently that's fun to watch. Only one designated trail we found...a 1/2 mile bird sanctuary walk (a little muddy when we were there but nice nonetheless). If you were there at the right time (we weren't) you could watch a fleet of skipjacks go out (or come in after several days out. There's also a terrific little restaurant (almost a hole in the wall but it dresses up real nice for dinner). We had dinner and breakfast there. Really good both time. It's called Two If By Sea. There is a Waterman's Museum too but closed when we were there. And it's only 14 miles into St. Michael's. The son we were with has a strict rule on vacations...ice cream is a must each day...so we made the trek to Justine's in St. Michael's for an extremely creamy treat every day. Highly recommended for a relaxing, meandering weekend with folks you care a lot about.

Pretty view and maybe a little bird watching. We drove to the point to see the island and fortunately didn't plan to spend any real time on Tilghman Island. It's a very run down area with pockets of residential developments. It would have potential with some TLC.
