Rockville finally has a place to go that doesn't require travelling the Pike. Plenty of food, shops, and entertainment for a night or a weekend

Lots of places to eat! This is a real local place! Sometimes good bands play outside and the Wine tasting event is always excellent. Lots of outdoor dining as well.

There is a nice farmers market in the parking lot on the weekends. The pickles and pizza and dumplings are excellent

One of the best town centers in the DC area. Good selection of restaurants, specialty shops, markets, library, and entertainment. Easy parking. Not as big as Reston, but much more than town center wannabe's so labeled by residential developers.

If you find yourself near Rockville, MD and need to eat, this newly developed (2007) town square has something for everyone. We had very good Lebanese food there. The best falafel I had on our trip. They had a rose water drink that was the essence of refreshment. But like almost every place there, the atmosphere was more fast food than anything else.

Dawson's Market tried to look like a Trader Joe's but lacked employee commitment.

All in all, it's a bedroom community for young DC workers. It seems so out of character for its locale but we ate well, had places to sit outdoors that we're pleasant and other than the AstroTurf grass and heavily chlorinated water spouts for the kids, it seemed user-friendly for its inhabitants.
