“Excellent kebabs, good Iranian gorcery store too”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

Yekta is an Iranian restaurant, and also an adjoining Iranian grocery store. The "Yekta Special" mixed kebob platter is excellent; in particular, the saffron-infused chicken made me re-evaulate my prejudice that chicken breast meat is insipid and dry. Heartily recommended. The grocery store has a nice selection of standard items (e.g. pistachios, both Turkish and Californian) and depending on the season, some harder to find items (e.g. fresh dates).

“Not the best but okay”
Reviewed December 18, 2013 via mobile

The spot has some good and bad points. The grocery store next door is nice, and ambience is nice. The food is good but not great. It's slightly overpriced and portions are small. The lunch specials are great (10 - 1). I would recommend kabob bazaar located in Bethesda and Arlington. The jujeh and soltani is nice. Was not a big fan of the rice.

“I liked the chandelier in the ladies room!”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

Coworker and I Enjoyed our lunch! We had to try a few things and everything was delish and reasonably priced. Great value with fresh food, nice portions and unique options. Service was right on and place was cute and comfy. It was nice to see almost a full restaurant at lunch...they seem to want to please. I even liked the chandelier in the ladies room!
We had grape leaves (dolmeh), kasha-o Badenjan and lavash bread to start. Then we each chose a lunch special...She had the Koobideh and I had the chicken special. Each special was $8.99.
The food around us all looked good too...I would have liked to try a few.
It was an adventurous lunch which made it more fun!

Thanks for your kind review back in November, Shersei! I couldn't be happier to hear how much you and your co-worker enjoyed dining with us. We've worked hard to provide consistent quality for customers, so this puts a smile on my face. We hope to see you again soon!

“Delicious!”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

We did takeout and the food is so tasty, the most authentic mediterranean food we have had in this area. The breads are soft and light. The rice is longrain and a great compliment to the various meat choices in sauce.

“Beautiful restaurant, delicious Persian food”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

We've been to the Yetka supermarket before but didn't notice the restaurant at the time. This time had the opportunity going for a family event – booked the entire space for a Sunday lunch to accommodate over 150 guests (maximum capacity). The first thing you notice when stepping into the dining room is the decor. The high domed and vaulted ceilings with an array of beautiful Persian glass chandeliers would be worth taking a look even if you don't dine there (they even had them in the bathrooms). There were wall murals and large planes of tinted glass on the upper part of the large tall windows, giving the room a very pleasant, bight and airy feel. For starters we had dolmeh (wine leaves), kuku sabzi (Persian frittata with fresh herbs), and mains were kubideh (ground beef kabob), chicken and lamb kabobs with perfectly cooked basmati rice with saffron, and a couple of vegetable sides, all flavored with fragrant mild and subtle spices. Everything was delicious. Have not had Persian food before but am now interested in trying more of this cuisine. An alternative to Indian food if you want something less hot spicy. Would definitely be interested in returning to this restaurant again even though it's a bit far away unless you live in Rockville, but it would be worth the effort.
