This small quaint restaurant was only small in size. In ambience, service and most importantly, food, this place can compete with ANY restaurant in the nation. We are from Chicago and are used to high-end upscale venues. The Kitchen retains the character of small town Rock Hall, but serves up food that is unique, delicious and artfully presented. One of the daily specials they were serving when we were there was a Watermelon salad with arugala, balsamic glaze and feta. Fantastic...what a wonderful blend of flavors and textures. Also that evening we enjoyed the Rockfish special of the day as well as their crab cakes...no filler here. The accompanying homemade remoulade sauce was unlike any we had ever had before - bold but not overpowering. We ended with their infamous Chocolate Bread Pudding and were not disappointed.
Owners Monica and her husband work both the dinig room and the kitchen and individually visit each table. Their front end staff are also equally attentive. A true gem on the Eastern Shore! We plan to make this a regular stop whenever we are in the area.
So not to be disappointed, be sure and make a reservation. The Kitchen is very popular and will only get busier as their popularity spreads.
