This small quaint restaurant was only small in size. In ambience, service and most importantly, food, this place can compete with ANY restaurant in the nation. We are from Chicago and are used to high-end upscale venues. The Kitchen retains the character of small town Rock Hall, but serves up food that is unique, delicious and artfully presented. One of the daily specials they were serving when we were there was a Watermelon salad with arugala, balsamic glaze and feta. Fantastic...what a wonderful blend of flavors and textures. Also that evening we enjoyed the Rockfish special of the day as well as their crab cakes...no filler here. The accompanying homemade remoulade sauce was unlike any we had ever had before - bold but not overpowering. We ended with their infamous Chocolate Bread Pudding and were not disappointed.
Owners Monica and her husband work both the dinig room and the kitchen and individually visit each table. Their front end staff are also equally attentive. A true gem on the Eastern Shore! We plan to make this a regular stop whenever we are in the area.
So not to be disappointed, be sure and make a reservation. The Kitchen is very popular and will only get busier as their popularity spreads.

This wonderful family-owned restaurant served our large group flawlessly! Both soups - Gazpacho and Crab - were bursting with fresh, lively flavor and were served alongside hot homemade bread and olive oil dipping sauce. And, oh, the Rockfish....it was by far the most popular entree for our group two nights in a row! A melt-in-your-mouth delicacy, it was perfectly accompanied by red-skin mashed potatoes. You think you have eaten their finest... but no! They save the best for last - the Chocolate Bread Pudding dessert. Served piping-hot, fresh from the oven, soft and tender, drizzled with a white-chocolate sauce, it is more like a souffle. I can't wait to go back!

Celebrated my birthday at The Kitchen and had a wonderful meal. The Rockfish was fresh and the owner went out of his way to make the Birthday special.

This is certainly the best food in Rock Hall at present for any sort of "foodie". They are tight on space which is limiting but the food rivaled many restaurants in any big city.
