Passing through a small town, one would expect even the chain restaurants to make an effort at good food prepared by professionals and delivered by attentive wait staff. Sadly, this is not the case. The hostess was very nice, but the waitress was the least involved person I've run into since riding the New York subway. The (dried out) pre-meal biscuits were dropped on the table with no comment, and no one ever asked if we would care for drink refills. The salad bar plates have shrunk to hor d'oeuvres plates (okay, that's a corporate failure) and the gumbo was cold in spots and thermal in others. I hate to complain, but if the only job of a "chef" is to dump things from a bag onto a plate and press the right microwave button, maybe they could try to at least get that right.
