“Staff is great, rooms are very small”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Basic rooms are very small, more like dorm rooms than a hotel. If you can find a good orice on one of the online booking services, I recommend opting for a suite. Staff is very helpful.Food is adequate. This is a learning center more than a hotel in a very nice neighborhood.

Room Tip: Find a discounted suite. It is the size of a normal hotel room and a sunny corner location.

I was bitten quite badly by bed bugs. I noticed after 2 nights and cancelled the 3rd night. The hotel staff was helpful and ran my suitcase in their high temperature drier, they closed off my room and the neighboring ones. Still had to pay for the 2 nights I stayed there. I'm sure they will take care of the problem, but I would not advise going there any time in the near future.

Thank you for your feedback about your recent stay. Your positive comments regarding our staff is much appreciated. The Bolger Center strictly observes hospitality industry standards regarding pest control. While our professional contractor could not say conclusively what had been in the room, we do acknowledge you experienced some discomfort during your stay, and for that we sincerely apologize. Both your room nights were credited but it may take several business days for your credit card to process.

I was "Googling" for a hotel in the Potomac area and happily came upon this location. I found the reservation process easy, and the room was clean, more than adequate and comfortable. Moreover, the price was reasonable and the eating facilities were excellent and reasoanbly price. I will come here next time I visit Potomac.

I stayed at The Bolger Center in Potomac, MD this March (of 2013) and I was quite pleased.
I did not know what to expect as it seemed like a converted hotel (which I later found out it was) and I thought it was only for people visiting with a conference or convention.
They accommodated just two of us for a business trip for one night. The hotel is made up of several buildings which are about five stories each, maybe some are taller. Each building offers umbrellas, a restaurant that serves breakfast lunch and dinner, restrooms, free WIFI.
The main building has the "Pony Express" restaurant that also has a fireplace and pool tables. Very nice and cozy.
We stayed in the Osgood building and each had a very big 1-bedroom suite with 2 TVS. The price was only $170 per night for each suite including taxes.
On the 1st floor there was a huge restaurant room with a breakfast and dinner buffet that is very reasonable priced. I think breakfast was $12.
Sedans sit outside the main building form 6 am to about 10 pm and will take you wherever you need to go, if you don't rent a car.
We had a work trip to Potomac but even if you're working somewhere near Rockville or Bethesda or just visiting the DC area, the Bolger Center is only 40 minutes from Dulles Airport and a very nice, relaxing property in beautiful Potomac.
I would love to go back, especially when the Cherry Blossoms are in season.

Sleeping rooms were small but were clean and had updated amenities. The meeting rooms were great, especially the main conference room. The food was really good with lots of healthy and vegetarian selections. The staff was outstanding--100% helpful and delightful. The grounds were lovely.

I suspect that most who stay at the Bolger Center do so for a conference. For that purpose, the accommodations, conference rooms and dining room are well-suited and well-priced. The most unique aspect is the dining room, which serves food in a buffet/cafeteria style. The food choices are pretty wide, but not gourmet food. This makes meals pretty fast, so that there is more time for the meetings. The rooms in the Osgood Building were like an average hotel and there was Wi-Fi. The location in Potomac is a little isolated, but that makes it suitable for retreat type meetings.

Recently stayed 1 night at the Bolger Center for a business trip. We had a meeting at that location. I had a single room in Building A. Much smaller than a usual hotel room. It was okay since I wasn't there much, but it could have had more electrical outlets in more convenient spots. It was basic, nothing fancy, but very clean. The grounds are quite nice, but there isn't much else around there. Be sure to ask for the shuttle schedule to/from the Bethesda Metro Station. That definitely makes up for the location.
