Description: MoCo's Founding Farmers is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU. serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on scratch-cooking. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain. However, it does mean that we are working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.

This is an odd restaurant. The quality of the food is relatively high, but the overall experience difficult to capture. FF / Potomac was noisy and seemed unmanaged on a busy Saturday night. Waiters seemed untrained, dropped food just missing patrons and asked, "Did I get you?" That probably accounts for spots on the thin carpet in the barn. No offer of dessert, just a little mailbox set on the table with the check inside. Maybe we were just not feeling it.

We enjoyed ourselves at Founding Farmers - we were celebrating our grandson's promotion to middle school. I had one of the burgers and asked for the Louie dressing on the side. It was cooked just right. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and he said it was the best he had ever had. The french fries could have been a little more crispy. The popcorn appetizer was delicious. My grandson ordered the salmon plank with the salt block preparation and he ate it all. He wasn't thrilled with the side of cucumbers. Our waiter was very personable and very knowledgeable.

Agree with most of the reviews that this is a good but not remarkable place for breakfast. The coffee is so-so, omelets OK, the skillet eggs a bit dry and uninspired. The grits on the other had were quite good, but then again, I'm a Yankee so I don't know that my opinion is definitive here.

I tried a vegetarian special for my second time at this restaurant and was again not disappointed - "cauliflower steak" was a tasty treat (very good). We started with the fried green tomatoes (good). Also tried another exotic cocktail - a cool vodka cucumber drink (very good). Great service and surprisingly not too crowded at noon on a Friday. We sat upstairs which is a bit more secluded and quiet.
