“What a great find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013

Stayed here for five nights as a base to show a friend the sights of Sydney. We stumbled across Linley House by accident on Wotif after failing to find anything else reasonably priced (and which allowed off-street car parking). Chris was a great host and provided all the information we needed regarding the various public transport options available to get us from Lane Cove into the CBD (the ferry from Woolwich is a perfect way to start the day). We stayed in the twin room with two single beds and shared bathroom/toilet. As it turned out we only had to share the bathroom on one evening. Everything was clean and well presented. A nice lounge area with television and tea & coffee facilities is available to use and there is free wi-fi. The continental breakfasts each morning were first class with an assortment of cereals, yoghurts, toast/croissants and tea or coffee. The home-made rhubarb was a highlight. There is some road noise from the adjacent Burns Bay Road (morning traffic seems to kick off from about 5am) which may be a problem for light sleepers but wasn't an issue for us. I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

We enjoyed Chris and Helen's hospitality for 4 days in August 2013 ... trip was combo of business, trade show and visits to friends. We loved the "garden room" (only one with en suite) under the house, Chris's simple but very healthy breakfasts, the location on Burns Bay Road (ideal for travel to the CBD or N, S E or W), the walks to the reserve on Lane Cove River and the "arty" house. Upstairs rooms share a guest bathroom, but family using these rooms were happy with their rooms.

Access is via a steep but managable drive cut into the sandstone cliffs (small car recommended!), but the house is above the road level and surprisingly quiet considering its location. Nice cafes neaby in Lane Cove proper, eg Laughing Ganesh and Via Napoli.
Good value for money ... we'll be back!

My Daughter and I have just spent 5 nights in Sydney for the purpose of attending the Hillsong Conference at Sydney Olympic Park. This was about our tenth year of attending. We've stayed in a wide range of accommmodations and by far, Chris and Helen's Linley House has been the best. In previous years, our accommodation was just something we had to have, somewhere to put our head down. But this year, Linley House added to the overall experience of our week. Chris and Helen's thoughtfulness, consideration and kindness are exceptional, not to mention the wonderful breakfasts which gave us such a great start to the day. Our room was comfy with some nice homely touches: tea and coffee; toasted sandwich maker, toaster, microwave. My daughter and I travel frequently and we could not believe what a 'find' Linley House is. With free parking, the public transport options to reach the city are easy. I fully intend returning to stay with Chris and Helen for a few days in Sydney.

This little bed and breakfast is a little gem! Run by Chris with the help of his wife Helen, they are so kind and helpful. It is in a great location very close to a ferry stop where there is free on road parking if you wish to go in to the city or darling harbour.
We stayed in the twin room with private bathroom which was very comfortable and had a microwave, kettle (with tea and coffee), and even a sandwich press! There is also a tv in the room and guest all have access to a communal lounge area with tea and coffee facilities.
The house is warm and cosy and Chris is such a kind and welcoming host.
We were attending a conference for the week at Olympic park and the drive there was easy, traffic-free and very quick! (20 minutes maximum).
Sydney needs more B&Bs like Linley House!
Looking forward to our stay next year :)

Very homey place. Warm, friendly and very helpful owners. It's a family owned business so expect that they would really give you a great service as they, of course, would want to keep their customers happy and satisfied. Linley house bed and breakfast has really good amenities such as coffee and tea making facilities, microwave, fridge, and tv with a garden view room. Wi-fi service is also available, free of charge. They also serve good and healthy breakfast which I enjoyed a lot. Location: it's a little bit difficult to find the place as it is along the busy road. You just have to check it with the owners before travelling or might as well use Google map or GPS. Sure, you won't get lost. Overall, I am happy with my 5 days stay at Linley house. Highly recommendable.

Room Tip: "Room with a garden view has a large space and a private toilet".
