We stayed here last weekend while attending a wedding in the area, as this was the hotel at which the bride and groomed had arranged for a special rate. My first comment is on that: any other time I've stayed in a hotel for a wedding, the rooms for wedding guests were all together, right down the hall from each other -- in a "block". At this hotel, we were spread out all over, some in the front of the hotel, some in the back, some on the ground floor, others on the upper floor. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, but as many of us had planned for our kids to spend time together outside of the wedding, this didn't exactly bode well for that.

Our room was in the back, on the ground floor and was damp and musty. Everything felt damp: the carpet, the bed linens, all the way down to the fitted sheet, even the surfaces of objects in the room felt damp. We complained to the front desk and asked to change to a room on the upper level and they told us no, and advised we crank the AC to dry the air. We told them that we'd had the air cranked for several hours while at the wedding and reception and it hadn't helped and they basically told us "oh well". Sleeping was nearly impossible. It felt like camping (for anyone who has camped in a tent and knows that 'dampness' that occurs as night falls). We had the air cranked so high that we were all freezing and didn't want to turn it down because we knew it would be like a sauna in there if we did. Gross.

We asked for additional bath towels, so our kids could shower, and they obliged, but we had to go get them. No biggie, but still not what I was expecting. Normally they bring the towels to you. I will say there was one nice thing about our room and that was the shower -- it had awesome water pressure. And then right after getting out of a nice hot shower, I looked down and saw this disgusting worm/insect on the wall. It almost looked like a slug, but it had lots of little legs, like a centipede. Good feelings gone. :/

The breakfast was all right. The kids found things they liked: waffles, donuts, yogurt, cold cereal. We met up with all of our other family members who had attended the wedding and enjoyed a nice long visit and none of the hotel employees seemed to mind that we were there for a couple of hours. This was probably the best part of our stay.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the ground floor.

I apologize for inconvenience caused to you and kids during the wedding. WE only put rooms together if they are request when blocking the rooms. since this request was not made during reservation. sometimes smaller groups of couple of families would like to have rooms together and others want to be away from noise and want to spent time away from the big group.

unfortunately we are located not very far from the ocean and it does gets musty specially on hot and humid days. the only resolve we have is to let the air conditioner take the humidity out of the room. unfortunately if the rooms are left open for longer times the condition gets worse inside the room.

very unfortunate to hear that you will not be giving us a 2nd chance. I request to please reconsider it and do try us once more. we will try our best to change your

sorry to hear your comments about the property and the area over all. this is not a ghetto town. it is small but friendly. it did not come upto your expectations sorry for that but which town you stay in you pay the price of it as well. two exits down if you are willing to afford the prices. good luck to you not everybody is fortunate like you.

thanks for you business.

We actually had 2 (adjoining) rooms here and both were very clean and comfortable. Everything was in good, working order. No mold, plumbing leaks or anything else negative. The breakfast offering was average, but it was also FREE, so it was pretty much what I expected. Staff was friendly and eager to please. Check-in and out was easy and quick. Very convenient to have the KFC/Taco Bell directly behind the hotel and Subway in front. I believe Subway is open 24-hours. We were able to get the two rooms (one for us parents and one for the kids) for the price of one room at most of the other nearby hotels. Some other reviews have mentioned the noise from the truck stop. Even with our rooms facing the truck stop, we weren't bothered by it in the least. Though there was nothing extraordinarily great about this hotel, it had everything that mattered...clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and a "can't be beat" price!
