“Hollywood Casino: Maryland's Private Bank”

As a habitual Keno player I have played the game in dozens of casinos. No where have I found the machines to be tighter than those contained in this facility. Hundreds games on a single machine played, 95% of the time few or no hits on any of the chosen numbers. Four out of seven nights there are more employees than players on the floor. The other games reflect a similar low to no payout. The sceens scattered around the casino note prior jackpot winners, there are few pictures presented which are recycled over a three month period. The staff refers you to the lobby where the interactive screen notes a 90% payout in this casino. A misrepresentation of the reality of this facility. The food is average to mediocre, the floor service is scarce but the bathrooms are very clean. Do yourself a favor fine another facility. Maryland uses this and its other casinos as a personal bank, you put money in but get nothing out.

This is such a disappointing casino....mostly all digital and no pay outs. It's never lots of people here when I go. This is the only hollywood casino that is never crowded. Don't get me wrong, I hate overcrowding but this is like the deadest casino. Sorry Perryville.

Went there with a large group (20 people) for a late afternoon lunch. The service was outstanding and the buffet expansive. A mixture of comfort food, pizza, italian and chinese. All were good, but not as good as what you would expect at a specialty restaurant. It was a nice meal in a comfortable atmosphere. Prices were reasonable.

We haven't been to the Hollywood Casino in at least 5-6 months, although we've heard on the news that this casino had a significant loss of business since Maryland Live! opened. They weren't kidding.
We've been there on Sundays before BECAUSE we were hoping it would be less full, but it was surprising to see so few cars there at 6:00 pm. We parked right up front and were able to play whichever games we wanted without waiting for a seat or being crowded by anyone else. While I didn't go home a 'winner', my husband did, and the machines were 'loose' enough where I felt I got my money's worth of entertainment before leaving.
It was a bit disappointing that the replaced the buffet with a sprts bar- like restaurant, but the buffet food was usually inconsistent anyway-- something was always cold when it should have been hot or warm when it should have been cold. The new menu had a good selection, but I didn't feel the meal I ordered was worth the $27 price (for the entree alone).
We'll go back, primarily because its not crowded and is a smoke free environment. However, we'll probably eat somewhere else before going.

This was never a bad place for what it is and with the constraints of the stupid Maryland casino laws. However, business has fallen since the new MD Live! opened and took all the business from Baltimore City. The problem is, management is doing nothing to help and everything to hurt this place. They have suddenly decided it would be a great idea to turn on these bright floodlights that glare off horizontal screens a kill whatever atmosphere there was. They have reduced the size of the free fountain drink cups to 6 oz. They still don't have paper towels in the bathrooms. They have reduced the offerings at their deli in favor of a more expensive "Bar & Grill", they have very few promos on Fridays, and their machine payouts are worse than ever. This management is clueless. The only saving grace of this place are the wonderful, friendly locals who work there. A prime example is the cocktail server Beth, who even at 2:00 A.M. has a friendly, sunny disposition and overall great attitude. Most casino employees could take a lesson from Beth!
