Loved the short ride and again the awesome people of Oxford. Taking a car and passengers is the way to go. too long a bike ride with busy roads

This is a short ride from Oxford MD across the Tred Avon River to the shore near St Michaels on the opposite peninsula. The kids will love it and it does save a lot of time if you are travelling from one area to the other. Does not run in the winter.

The weather was perfect and the setting was nice. The ferry ride was relaxing. Be sure to take your car. St. Michael's is a drive once you get on the other side. There is nothng in walking distance from the ferry.

We took this little ferry from Oxford, MD, to another little harbor town of St Michaels. It was only about 6 miles and cost $22 round trip, but it was just nostalgic to drive up onto a ferry boat, something we hadn't done since we were kids, many years ago. This is supposed to be the oldest privately run ferry in America. The ferrymen were very nice, and it was a beautiful day to look out on Chesapeake Bay!

We went to Oxford for a few hours to walk around.
It's just a quiet little town.
The homes are older & interesting.
The ferry ride is efficient.
