The best part is the friendliness of the staff. We were greeted everytime we passed through the lobby. Had cookies out when we arrived.

The rooms were clean and no signs of bedbugs as we always look before we settle in. The windows open if you like fresh air (we do). You can turn off the heater/blower if you want. Microwave and fridge in room.

The place looked well maintained. The bathrooms were like new and had Neutrogena products.

Breakfast was not included, but $12 pp, so we had cereal and bagels and juice in our room after running to a nearby grocery store (Food Lion). There was coffee in the lobby, which was good. (A coffee pot in room too, but I don't use those).

Our only issue was that the beds were very firm, which is not our preference. Also we prefer queen size beds over doubles, but all the other places had double beds too.

Given the choices in the area we would stay here again.

I had a bed and breakfast rate that included two breakfasts. These cost $12 extra if you don't have them included. The breakfast was a great buffet with fresh made omelets and griddle. The buffet had everything and was in very good shape. I've stayed in a couple HGI and this breakfast set up did not feel as elegant as some of them (like Center City Phila and South Pointe near Pittsburgh), but it was very nice.
The property was a 10 out of 10 for what it is.
The room was in great shape with superior touches like lots of various coffee condiments and tea choices and a full array of Neutrogena bath products.
One complaint - it was a relatively small TV (32in) for the room size. If you have a bigger one at home, you might feel underwhelmed.
The desk clerk forgot my breakfast coupons, but then gave me a free beverage in a nice easy going gesture to make up for having to come back down.
All staff, especially the breakfast staff was attentive and eager to please.
There are lots of restaurants nearby.
I did not like the Irish Pub nearby for a late sandwich - ridiculously loud DJ..

Room Tip: Get the Bed and Breakfast rate. Excellent breakfast, expensive if not included.

We stayed 4 days between Christmas and New Year's while visiting family in the area. The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. The cookies at check-in are fabulous! The breakfast buffet staff members are extremely hospitable without being patronizing, and the food is delicious. For example, they'll prepare eggs any way you like them; being able to start the day with an egg white and spinach omelette is wonderful. The only reason I didn't give an excellent rating was because the beds did not seem as comfortable as they had in previous stays. We stayed in a room with 2 double beds. This may just have been our particular room. Otherwise, everything was great!

There is a lovely lobby and a nice fireplace to warm up your impressions when you first walk in here. The staff is very friendly, and the room was just fine. It was in fact, everything you would hope for and expect from this hotel brand: comfortable, clean and with some nice touches and amenities. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area. There are several chain restaurants across the street and a rather depressing and large shopping mall not too far away.
