Celebrating our anniversary, we had our earliest dinner in a quality restaurant. Our reservation was for 5:30 pm on a weekday night. Another first was being the only couple in the restaurant when we arrived. Though we were soon joined by a nice group of folks especially for a weeknight. We also tried their price-fixed meal for the first time. This included a soup or salad, a choice of entrees and to finish a nice sweet treat. $38.14 was the price for the 3 course meal and I thought we got good value given the excellent quality and presentation of the meal. We also added the calamari from the regular menu. It was in a sweet chili type sauce and was wonderful. My wife tried the beef tenderloin which she said was melt in the mouth good. As a first I tried shrimp and grits. I will certainly try it again!. Our salads were nice size as we both had a caesar salad. My wife enjoyed the sorbet with fruit to end the meal and I had a wonderful chocolate chocolate-chip hot fudge sundae. This met my chocoholic needs quite well. Service was very good and professional. We could ask any needed questions, but left alone to enjoy our meal. Refills of water and ice-tea seemed to come magically without any need to ask for refills.

Yes the restaurant is in a professional building type location. The only view for those eating outside was the parking lot and the sound of traffic on the nearby roads does not provide great atmosphere, but once inside the restaurant is very attractive with lots of dark woods--just what we expected from a special type of restaurant.

We will certainly be back to enjoy the food at Linwoods. Hopefully we will not wait till the next special occasion. Based upon our most recent experience I would think that many people who were first-time customers would be back and when they return would again experience a fine meal.

The only somewhat odd thing is the location. It is in a business park like setting. No other open businesses around on a Friday night. Definitely make a reservation. Bar seating available at drink bar and food bar, which would be great fun if you like watching the cooks. Outdoor seating as well, but no real view. The food is great. Fresh ingredients and beautiful serving styles.

Something for everyone. Small plates, pizza, steak. Saw more jackets and ties than so have for a long time, But casual is OK too.

Linwood's is located in the Owing Mills suburb outside Baltimore. The location is easy to find and plenty of parking.
Diners have a choice of outdoor seating, indoor table service, bar seating over looking the kitchen.
The menu offered a great variety of entrees for all tastes. The food was well prepared and beautifully presented. The wait staff were knowledgeable and not intrusive. The chef checked with us at the end of the meal to ensure we were completely satisfied.

Linwoods restaurant is located in Owings Mills, Maryland. It is near Baltimore but if one
has a discriminate palate it is worth a trip even from Washington. A reservation is suggested
for the tables are fairly booked every day of the week. That in itself tells a story; ample parking,
approach to the front doors graced by well appointed open air seating, and once inside one is
greeted by delightful, courteous people. The ambiance and the setting are fair to the eye, the
serving staff is superb, the preparation of food as quick as the chefs can manage the dish, and the guests always friendly in as many times I have dined there. The chefs, usually six or seven, the kitchen, and the counter behind which they do their magic, can be seen in their white hats from almost every table in the house. As for the food I will only mention a few items that I found particularly tasteful; Appetizers, Crispy Calamari and Spicy Tuna Tartari; from the Grill, Espresso Rubbed Ribeye, winks with delight and Veal Porterhouse shudders with tenderness. Seafood offers good Sea Bass and Grilled Salmon is excellent. The wood-burning oven churns out a puleezing Pugilese Pizza, and a Margherita & Portobello Pizza will also delight. So if you are in the area, or nearby, or even far away, drop by Linwoods and grab some taste.

We have been here several times over the past 3 weekends to attend local events in which our grandchildren were participating. The food is superb as well as the service. The dining selections cover a full range of simply great food. The location is rather interesting in that it is located in a large office complex and a high end surrounding community. The place is typically full on weekends and I strongly suggest reservations to assure a table. There are many local clients that are repeat customers which is always a way of determining the quality of the food and service. The wine list is very complete and you can ask for their "special" list which has some very good high end selections which change often due to availability. They also have a very good lunch crowd due to its location in a business complex. After more than 4 recent visits I strongly recommended this restaurant.
