Celebrating our anniversary, we had our earliest dinner in a quality restaurant. Our reservation was for 5:30 pm on a weekday night. Another first was being the only couple in the restaurant when we arrived. Though we were soon joined by a nice group of folks especially for a weeknight. We also tried their price-fixed meal for the first time. This included a soup or salad, a choice of entrees and to finish a nice sweet treat. $38.14 was the price for the 3 course meal and I thought we got good value given the excellent quality and presentation of the meal. We also added the calamari from the regular menu. It was in a sweet chili type sauce and was wonderful. My wife tried the beef tenderloin which she said was melt in the mouth good. As a first I tried shrimp and grits. I will certainly try it again!. Our salads were nice size as we both had a caesar salad. My wife enjoyed the sorbet with fruit to end the meal and I had a wonderful chocolate chocolate-chip hot fudge sundae. This met my chocoholic needs quite well. Service was very good and professional. We could ask any needed questions, but left alone to enjoy our meal. Refills of water and ice-tea seemed to come magically without any need to ask for refills.
Yes the restaurant is in a professional building type location. The only view for those eating outside was the parking lot and the sound of traffic on the nearby roads does not provide great atmosphere, but once inside the restaurant is very attractive with lots of dark woods--just what we expected from a special type of restaurant.
We will certainly be back to enjoy the food at Linwoods. Hopefully we will not wait till the next special occasion. Based upon our most recent experience I would think that many people who were first-time customers would be back and when they return would again experience a fine meal.
