Grill Marx got a patron surge after a positive Washington post review shortly after it first opened a year or so ago now. My wife and I tried it then as well and have been back to it on a regular basis by ourselves and with friends. The Filet Mignon with peppercorn sauce is excellent in general. On rare occasion s it has only been good where the meat didn't seem as tender as usual but the flavor has always been there. This Grill Marx is every bit as good or better than a Ruth's Chris or Morton's or other high end steakhouse which we have sampled on many occasions. The wait staff friendly, usually prompt and knowledgeable and helpful, wines good to very good. Other fair available, lamb, chicken, fish, etc. ... great salads. Atmosphere and dress code for evenings business casual to very casual sports bar-ish but food is fine dining all the way. Has fairly large capacity accommodations with booths, tables and bar for likely 150 to 300+ patrons. Reservations useful especially on nice weekends. Kitchen is open to observe chef and staff processing meals. The din can get a bit much for easy conversation at times.
