“Nice up upgrade to ocean front”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

There are two buildings, One is a high-rise that is ocean front and one is a dumpy building that is street front. We upgraded to the nice building with ocean front for an extra $45/night and it was well worth it.
The room was spacious and it slept 6 with an incredible view of the ocean. It was clean and DOES NOT have the musty smell of your typical beach motel.
There are two pools, in door and out door.
Location is great. with everything in walking distant. The end of the board walk is about three blocks away.

Room Tip: CHoose the highrise that is ocean front

Made a last minute decision to spend the weekend at the beach and wanted a reasonably priced room with an ocean view. Rodeway Inn fit the bill perfectly. Nothing glamorous about it but my room was clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Great desk staff. Rodeway is located just past the end of the boardwalk so the beach is less crowded and if you want the crowds and cannot resist some thrasher fries or fischer caramel corn you can walk two blocks and hop the boardwalk train or in the early morning rent a bike and pound the boards.

The rooms are old but in reasonably good shape. Bring your own coffee because the 2 cup drip machine is not so great but Fractured Prune Donuts is just around the corner. There is a microwave and I think a mini fridge (I ate out). Jolly Roger is right across the street if you are so inclined.

My only complaint would be the shower which had a $5 plastic shower head that barely trickled water. There is no hot tub but both the indoor and outdoors pools were clean. Certainly Rodeway is not a glamour spot but it is a bargain if you want an oceanfront view.

The room was dirty. The bathroom had mold in the shower and the exhaust fan was hanging out of the ceiling. The ceiling tile obviously had a lot of water damage as some of them were bowed. There were tiny ants all over the bathroom. I noticed the deadbolt would not lock...when I inspected the lock there was newspaper shoved in the lock. The toilet would not work. The worst thing was when the toilet overflowed all over the bathroom floor. My kids and I agreed that it was time to go. I would not waste any time staying here. It is a dump.

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

we got a real nice , clean ocean front room. All the appliances were in good working condition. The front desk personnel were very helpful and pleasant. The housekeepers were very friendly and gave us lots of extra towels, toilet paper etc. The boardwalk , stores, bars are pretty close. We really enjoyed our 4 day stay there, specially my 3 year old boy who loved to sit on the balcony and watch the waves after a day long playing at the beach. The only thing I did not like was the fact that even tough the hotel is "non- smoking " people were smoking " weed" at all times. We had to keep our balcony door closed during the day and during the night mainly because my son suffers from severe asthma ( we did not think or care about what the other people were doing). The other thing that really made me uneasy was the fact that police were called to our next door room when apparently someone staying at the hotel had broken into our next door room. The police were there for a long time, management and guests all over the hall ..ugh it made me feel annoyed and unsafe . Other than that I liked it and will stay there again but not with my son.

Room Tip: Make sure when you book that you are getting an " ocean front room " ask them 2, 3 4 times...

We stayed in the streetside building on the parking lot side ground floor. The room was musty moldy and dusty. Also very small. There were flies in the room as well. When we asked the front desk for extra towels and pillows we were told "if we have any, and good luck the guy who does that is gone for the night" if we had the money we would have checked out and gone somewhere else. We paid over $200 per night NOT WORTH IT.

I have stayed here twice. It is a good value for oceanfront. I have not stayed in any of the off-ocean units, so I can only speak to the ocean front units. The hotel is located near restaurants, pubs, and entertainment. It has an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, which has a large deck overlooking the ocean and dunes. The continental breakfast is very limited, but coffee and tea are available 24/7. It also has free internet access. It served all of my purposes, and I would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: Unless you are on a tight budget and must cut costs, the ocean front is a great value.

We recently stayed at the Rodeway in Ocean City, Md. Called early in the morning and we were able to book a room for the weekend. We had an ocean front on the 5th floor and a great view of the ocean from our balcony. The room was very clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast room is very tiny with only 3 tables for a hotel that size. The selection is very limited so we only ate there one time. We would probably go again if we could the same type of a room

Room Tip: Try to book a room in the building that faces the beach. The other building faces the parking lot...
