“Terrific sunsets over the bay!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

The location, price, and direct bay view are terrific. We found the front-desk staff very helpful, we were able to check in a few hours early when we arrived on Sunday. Also, housekeeping was friendly and helpful. The A/C kept the room cool and comfortable (important since it was in the upper 90's), and the jacuzzi in the tub was terrific. Plenty of towels with a built-in hairdryer and a clothesline in the bathroom for wet suits. Two flat-screen TVs with a DVD player. Wi-fi worked great. Coffee in the lobby is a nice touch. Our one-bedroom has a microwave, small 2-burner electric range, small refrigerator, and small sink; but don't expect to cook meals. Also, a toaster and a 12-cup coffee maker with regular and decaf coffee is supplied. Our unit had a musty old, worn-out sofa bed in the setting area that we covered with a sheet. Exhaust fan in the windowless bathroom didn’t work. The overall cleanliness of our unit was questionable (tile floor, area rug, sofa very dirty). The pool was adequate, although the pool jacuzzi didn’t look too inviting. Common areas and the elevators lacked A/C. (You can leave chairs, umbrella, etc., in your car, park before 9:00 a.m. across the coastal highway on 59th street instead of carrying them across the highway). However, we definitely recommend the hotel as a good bargain!

Very big hotel room two blocks from the beach. There is a resturant right next to the hotel you can walk to. The rooms have a kitchen in them and all have balconys. You can walk across the street to the beach but not the boardwalk. The board walk is about 3 miles or so from this hotel. On the strip by this hotel there are many places to eat and things to do. I hope this helps someone!

This hotel exceeded our expectations, we absolutely loved it! I should start by saying that the front reception staff is great! We had a slight problem with our booking prior to arrival, and they were so helpful and accommodating. The manager, Kyle is local, and had lots of helpful restaurant and activity suggestions (also let us check in 2 hrs early which was awesome). We stayed in a one bedroom suite, with views overlooking the bay and Fagers Island. The suite has a resort feel to it, and was very spacious. It's the little things that can make or break a stay, and I will admit that I really appreciated the abundance of towels that were in the room to begin with, flat screen tv, super comfy bed and clothesline in the bathroom for wet suits, etc...Sure there are a couple dated aspects of the room, but these were very minor! (Older fridge, mirror)The location is good, and you can ride the "Beach Bus" which has stops all along the Costal Hwy for $3 all day till 6 a.m. The next day! This hotel is within walking distance of Seacrets (you need to go! ) and we even walked to the boardwalk one afternoon. There is also a 7/11 right on the corner, which comes in handy. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning was a pleasant bonus. Honestly, I highly recommend this place, we travel frequently and I admittedly like the finer things in life (haha) and we would stay here again in a heartbeat! Also, the rate we got for this room can't be beat in O.C. at $120/night. You won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: Request a nice bay view, we stayed in peak season and they honoured this request!

Friends of ours are timeshare owners, and generously gave us a free week in their 1 bedroom unit. The unit is pretty spacious and had a lovely view of the bay. It looks like all of the 1 bedrooms have a direct bay view, but also overlook Fager's Island Restaurant (very good, btw). The rooms are a little dated and a tad musty, but was overall pretty nice. The kitchen is useless with the exception of the fridge and coffee pot, so do not plan to cook while there. Several families mentioned to me they thought they'd be able to cook there til they saw the kitchen. Fager's is busy and noisy almost every night, but when we closed the sliders we couldn't hear it at all. Easy walk to beach and you can walk to several restaurants, including Seacrets. The wifi is USELESS, so keep this in mind if you need it. They said they're trying to make it better. Overall, customer service and housekeeping was good. Would go back.

Room Tip: Ask to upgrade to a one bedroom. We were only supposed to have a studio, and it was no problem to ge...

AFter reading other reviews i was a little skeptical about this hotel but have to say, was quite satisfied with my stay.
Considering other OC hotels and pricing--the CM def. is a good choice. Remember, most hotels in OC are very, very old and few have been updated and teh one's that have been renovated are super expensive.
Having a one-br suite was great. The view was super and it was very nice to be about to walk to Fagers Island. Also loved the little kitchen and the couch facing the water. Much more spacious than a hotel room.
The staff was super nice and when some June bugs (high school grads) started yelling obsenities off the balcony (not sure at what cuz we were on the bay), the staff shut them down in minutes and i never heard another peep from that room.
Only bummer is you do have to cross the busy highway to get to the beach but you are on the bay.
I would def. stay here again.

Room Tip: I don't think you have to choose--all are facing the bay except a few studios.

We arrived earlier than check in and the front desk explained to us that they had just had a massive check out and that our room was not ready. However, they never checked to see if the room was actually ready or not in the system (and they were not sold out.) No matter, we headed straight for the beach. The beautiful staircase pictured in the photos for this hotel is completely inaccessible. It only leads to the pool, and because the stairs are marble (or some derivative thereof) we can only imagine that someone who was wet fell on them and thus they are roped off for safety purposes. The elevators in this hotel are SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. Since it is only five or six floors we just climbed the stairs when not checking in or out. The front desk said they would call us when our room was ready. Four hours later with no call, we headed back to the hotel. Our room was ready-they had just forgotten to call. We stayed in the St. Kitt's suite, which is considered a presidential suite on the 4th floor. The AC was not working and maintenance needed to be called to get it to work. The room was beautiful. The living room had a clear ocean view as did the master bedroom. Since the master bedroom was on the corner, it also had beautiful bayside views. The set up was very nice, with two sinks separate from the shower and toilet which helped our family with getting ready. We suspect our room was not one of the rooms in the "mass check out" because the freezer was so warm when the ice dispensed, it was just water, indicating it had been shut down for quite some time. The minor issues (not being called at check in, the AC, the shower only has one tiny little soap dish and no other shelving of any type) were very much worth the value, the location, and the great room. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The pool has gorgeous views of the bay and is quiet and relaxing with a nice hot tub. I would recommend the Coconut Malorie and would also stay there again, although I am suspicious of them allowing not wanting guests to check in earlier than the 4PM check in time based on our experience. However, since that was the posted time, we did not truly expect to be able to check in earlier during this busy summer season. The bed was comfortable and our request for a quiet room was definitely granted as we did not hear any neighbors.

When walking through the front doors you really feel like you are at an upscale hotel. My husband and I came down early in the morning and hit the beach before we checked in. When we walked in we felt like we were VERY underdressed having our cover up's on. We found a door on the side that we used the rest of the stay when we were going to, or coming back from the beach.

Once upstairs we were amazed at the room! The hotel was very clean! I am not used to this staying at many different hotels in Ocean City. The bedroom was seperate from the living space closed off by double doors. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. There was a mini fridge for us to use. The living room was nice also. The balcony off the living room had the best view of the sunsets! It sits right on the bay right beside Fagers Island (can get a little noisey at times). Starting around 6:00 at night there is a constant flow of people walking back to Fagers Island to party.

The one reason I didn't give them 5 dots is because of the pool. The pool was dirty, it looked clean until you got in it. The side walls were slimey (mostly from tanning oil) but there was a film along the whole liner. The bottom wasn't slimey because that had sand all over it. I understand we are at the beach and you are going to have this, but i feel it can be cleaned more often.
