Just opened this year with a Peruvian theme, we have enjoyed the many meals from Culture. I like the rotisserie chicken, my husband likes marinated beef in sandwiches. We both like that you can eat-in or carry-out and the reasonable prices.

The decor is simple and nice and probably they already know how they are going to change it when they pick the next cuisine. Let's get serious - when is an authentic peruvian restaurant going to open in Worcester County? - probably never. You can get crabcakes and you can get imaginative cooking in very few places so when a professional chef is not turning out twenty kinds of fish, they should be carried in a sedan chair. The Shark is a good restaurant and this restaurant shows its heritage. Is the menu the same as a Peruvian Restaurant in Takoma Park Md - no. They don't have the grilled beef heart, the tripe stew. What they do have are any number of dishes that mirror the cuisine quite well and taste good. My wife and i have eaten there together several times and with one of her friends another. She has been there with her lunch bunch. She hates places where she has to look at a list and order first but she mentions this restaurant when we want to go out very often. She likes the fact that they have a nice seating area where she can sit and look at the menu before ordering. She has had the chicken and the stew and we have had several sides including the plaintains, the yucca and the purple potatos. I have had the salad twice and each time ordered the generous extra portion of vegetable skewers. Go to the tourist joints if you must. This is interesting and tasty food.

Hard to describe this place. It's in a non-descript strip mall outside of Ocean City and holds itself out as an authentic source of South American cuisine, mainly Peruvian. The promotional tasting event they sponsored featured a number of otherwise unknown selections from that region that in the best of circumstances would only be appealing to native Peruvians or Bolivians. The ownership runs another place in the neighborhood that allegedly is much better appreciated by Ocean City visitors so one has to ask "What were they thinking??"

We live in OCMD seasonally and were very excited when Culture opened because it was owned by the same people who run our favorite restaurant, the Shark on the Harbor. My husband and I had dinner at Culture and were not thrilled with our meal. The plantains and yucca were very good side dishes but everything else was a big disappointment. My husband got the chicken and it was the quality of a rotisserie chicken at the supermarket, but priced much higher. I had the chicken causa and it was a hot mess on the plate. They took the rotisserie chicken and smothered it in sauce that was just average in taste and texture. Sadly, we will not be eating there again.

I've tried a couple of take-out dishes, and was pleased with both. The chicken sandwich and the steak causa were both tasty and interesting. The menu is limited, but the dishes I tasted make me want to try everything!
