“Great homestyle food!”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

We decided on Smoker's BBQ Pit for diine on our 1st OC vacation.

It is a little drive from the boardwalk area and hotel where we stayed . When we got there we realized it was not a served restaurant, you basically walk up to and ordered your food at a window ,the menu is on the wall around the window...and then you go to the next window to pick up.
There was alot of people which suggested it was a popular place,so it must be good right?

There is seating outside in between both windows or you can go into a room with picnic tables which we choose.
It was pretty chilly and the fans were going ,but when another customer asked to turn the fan off,it didn't seem like the worker wanted this to be done.

We got our food, choose our BBQ sauce ,and had a seat.It was a chilly dinner with the fan running ,but it was tasty and tasted unlike a chain restaurant.I really did enjoy the food.

For our family of 6 plus a 1 yr old...we got the #5 deal and a small order of hush puppies for around $49 .4 corn bread, the only thing no one liked,1 whole chicken, rack of ribs,4 sides.we got macaroni salad,2 mash potatoes and a potato salad.
It was enough for us all since my group included kids, but for adults you will definitely need more sides, they were kinda small.
We got extra trays to eat off and no knives so we broke the chicken and ribs apart by hand, the chicken were cooked in halves.

The tables were a little sticky and we had to use a baby wipes to clean it down,it wasn't really dirty, just a few few cornbread crumbs here and there.

Overall....the food was yummy, and our only experience with the staff wasn't that great with the fans issue.

Price was just ok for me...wish the sides were a little bigger.

“Southern Style BBQ”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We went as a group of 5. 4 of 5 got pulled pork sandwiches with sides and the other ordered ribs. 2 of our sandwiches were traditional with “red sauce” and two were southern style. We all thought the sandwiches were excellent. Unfortunately, the ribs recipient was less impressed. However, she wasn’t expecting that they would be prepared with a dry rub. Most of us did not like the coleslaw either. It is not made with a traditional mayonnaise base. Although we didn’t mind, potential diners should know that it is picnic table seating under a screened in roof.

“Good Reasonably Priced Food”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Drove by this place many times, and finally decided to stop and try it out. I ordered the pulled pork bbq sandwich with collard greens and mac & cheese. The bbq was awesome! My traveling companion order the same, but substituted the garlic green beans for the collards. She said they were canned green beans and after 1 bite would eat no more.
