We actually dined here twice in one week for dinner due to our first experience being well. We have a smaller child we have to think of when going out to dinner, therefore based on the reviews and the website alone we decided to check out OC Fish Tales.
Be prepared, this place is crowded, and you will most likely wait for a table. However, the wait is cushioned by the nice view of the bayside water front, and the available seating in the sand next to the kiddie castle children are playing around. Each bar offers a nice selection of beers and cocktails, and the bartenders were quick to take my order each time despite how busy they are.
Food was better than average each time, and was relatively quick considering how busy the restaurant is. First visit we ordered the Thai Shrimp for an appetizer, and although they weren't memorable, I would say they were tasty. For the entree I ordered the crab flatbred, while others in my party ordered a kiddie cheese burger with smiley french fries, and a chicken black bean quesadilla. Each and every item of food tasted good, and is worth mentioning.
Second visit, we ordered similarly with the exception of the seafood burrito, which I found quite tasty albeit a little on the small side, and slightly watery. However, I would consider ordering it again.
Only downfalls are; there are many kids running around the childrens area of many different ages. If you have a small child and allow them to play, you had better keep a close eye on them, rather than your beer/adult beverage of choice.
Second, the dock around the entrance/exit of the restaurant has open railing, with about 10 feet between each pole. This means, a small child, if not watched carefully could fall into the water, fairly easily. I would really like to see OC Fish Tales put up some type of railing or safety ropes along the border of the water.
