We loved the beach! Its really flat and open so theres a breeze. we were there in peak season and turned up both times during the afternoon and always got a spot as near to the waters edge as we wished. You can rent seats and umbrellas, we didn't bother, beach towels did us as we were in the water. It has a rip tide so be careful, lots of sudden odd angled waves. There are lifeguards about every 200 yds who are very reassuring and also an entertainment in themselves. They communicate to each other with flags or signing and do it very regularly. The beach is busy at the waters edge but everyone follows the few rules of no music no ball games on top of people. There is tonnes of room and set up nets for volleyball, soccer, or whatever you like, and of course once you're finished the boardwalk is right there, or if like us you stayed in the Park Place, you're hotel is right there! The lifeguards go off duty at 5:30 so everybody must exit the water until the lifeguards are clear of the beach, after that you're own your own! Most people seemed to leave around than. The umbrella guys seemed to finish at 5pm.
