If you can get a room really cheap or don't mind musty smell ok but wouldn't pay full price. Hotel it self is in good location. Only stayed one night but that was enough for me rooms was nice. Didn't eat in restaurant so can say anything about it.

Room Tip: room with a view wold be just a glass window or get cottage haven't seen them

My boyfriend and I stayed here in mid-july and it was fairly nice. We had a 2nd floor room on the "south" side, so we weren't facing the boardwalk directly. However we were across the hall from the maid's room and ice machine.

PROS
people were nice
room was good size for 2 people
room was clean and smelled good
comfy bed with A LOT of pillows
new carpet
great (better than my home) water pressure
funny pictures on wall (although our pictures were a bit weird)
free parking
the rocking chairs on the deck
convenience store and restaurant in hotel

CONS
thin walls (the ceiling in particular was bad since we had a 2nd floor room - we heard the people above us puking)
the ice machine and the maids were very loud; on our last morning i heard them vacuuming at 7:30am
no pool, no fridge, no balcony, no fitness center
trash can in room was extremely small, we ended up asking for a large trash bag

Overall it was a good value. If you're a good sleeper id recommend it, or just get a 3rd floor room away from the ice machine.

Room Tip: Get a room on the top floor, preferably away from the ice machine/maid room.

I would recommend this place to anyone. Our room was very clean...You could smell clean as soon as you walked in. It was a wonderful atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to help.Awesome location on the boardwalk. We were sitting in the rockers on the porch and Bill (a staff member) brought us a bucket of ice for our drinks.I will stay here next year.

I stayed with my boyfriend in the Beach Plaza hotel from July 16-20th. What a wonderful time we had! Before I wrote this review, I wanted to call the hotel and find out about the beds there. We stayed in room 212, the bed was SO comfortable, we both fell asleep within minutes! Our room was side ocean view, so we looked onto the ocean. Nice view. Bathroom was clean, room was clean (don't really care enough to comment on the decor, because who ACTUALLY cares??) Maid service was great. They continuously reminded us about being able to help out if need be, regardless what time of day. The rocking chairs and awning in the front of the hotel were a wonderful place to relax and hang out and watch the waves and the sun (and the people!) The restaurant within the hotel was Adolfo's, TRY THE EGGPLANT PARM!! It was incredible (as was their marinara sauce!) It's not a Ritz-Carlton hotel, so don't look for those amenities when booking, especially with the price. It did provide a great quality stay at a great value! For a beach vacation and what you need the room/bathroom for, it did a fantastic 5 star job in my eyes!

Stayed at Beach Plaza Hotel, for a family trip. The hotel staff was very polite & helpful, even at midnight when TP was needed! The condos are spacious & clean, loved the bedroom sizes. The maids were very nice & made us feel right at home, no request was a problem! Loved the location, right off of the boardwalk!! Already planning next year's family trip!

I stayed at this hotel over the week of July 4th. Very retro, like a scene from a
Movie. It was a great value and a great location. The staff was fantastic and very friendly. I enjoyed it so much I will be returning there in September!!

My wife and I were unsure about this place at first; it is older and we hoped not run-down like some other older hotels in OC. But we were pleasantly surprised! We stayed for two days after the July 4th holiday. Yes, it is an older hotel, but with the exception of the elevator you really couldn't tell. Our room (114) was clean and neat. We had a great view of the ocean from the large window. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The lobby was reminiscint of the older days with the sofas and decorations, and had plush carpeting that I was a little nervous about walking on with my sandy feet from the beach. It was great sitting in the rocking chairs and watching people walk by, or just enjoying the sights and sounds of the surf. We will definitely stay here again; it was a great bargain at the price we paid!

Our only complaint was the thin walls - we could hear those in the adjoining rooms talking, and I figure they could hear us also. No complaints otherwise!

The Beach Plaza is delighted to hear that your wife and you enjoyed your visit to our beach front location. Everyone comments on the rocking chairs and how relaxing it is to sit on the veranda and watch the people on the boardwalk.
We are looking forward to your return .
