Went to Ocean City for a get-away weekend in the off-season. Quite a difference from the summer months. About half of the restaurants were open. Mother's Cantina was recommended by hotel staff, and we took their advice.
Located in the 28th Street Plaza, free parking out front at the door. It had seating in the barroom as well as a dining room. Somewhat dark, plenty of comfortable ambience. In addition to a complete menu, there was an add-in sheet of the daily specials, none of which could be considered standard fare. All were creative, well prepared offerings.
What one notices immediately, is that all portions are generous, and lean toward the spicy hot side of the scale. Not objectionable, but certainly noticeable.
Price wise, all entrees were well under $20. per person, surprising for a resort town. A full selection of beers, margaritas, and mixed drinks are available. Total bill for two with two drinks apiece ran $42.
Mother's Cantna is a great choice for casual, reasonably priced dining in Ocean City.
