My boyfriend and I wanted to spend a weekend in Ocean City during the winter just to take advantage of the quiet beach and find some seashells. We love Ocean City and have stayed at a handful of different hotels. We looked at a bunch of hotels, but ultimately chose to stay at the Grand because the receptionist, Arlene, was phenomenal. Even though we called very late, around 1am, Arlene answered all our questions and genuinely sounded excited about the hotel's amenities. We checked in around 6pm and the check in was quick. Our room on the 12th floor was perfect. There was a direct view of the ocean and when the sun rose in the morning right in front of us, we could feel its warmth by standing near the window. That's an amazing thing to feel in the middle of winter. The room was spacious and had a very large and comfortable bed. When staying at a hotel, It's the little things that count and the Grand nailed it. We loved the eastern shore apples at the front desk, the small candles provided by our hot tub, the bath robes, the shuttle to the casino, the hotel pizza restaurant that delivered a freshly made Stromboli to our door, the 24 hour cafe, and how friendly everyone was. When we finally met Arlene in person, she even gave us recommendations about where to go to get delicious
seafood. We had the perfect winter getaway thanks to the Grand. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Hotel a couple of years ago and overall had a good experience. The location was great, we just had to cross the street to get to the beach, and had easy access to the boardwalk and all the shops. The room was good (except that the carpets seemed old) and had a great balcony view of the ocean. The pool facility in the hotel was also very convenient to use.

This place was horrible first we get in the room my kid open one of the drawers to put his clothes in and the drawer falls on his toe . Then we find some bobby pins on the floor so my wife goes tell them and I look some more find three more pins a safety pin and a screw .
Next the power is off and it is getting dark so I ask if we can get a refund and just ..leave told the general manager that it is dark in the room and I have two little kids it is dangerous he tells me no it is bot his falt and I tell him it's not mine either and he walked away and told me no refunds I just wanted my money back so we could leave we were only there for two hr before the power went out very very rude that man was to me do not stay at this place ....... O I told thin about the needles and they sent someone to vacuum the room I think they should have done that before we even check in

The room was dirty heater barely worked leaving black spot marks and dusk on ceiling room was freezing thermostat was set to 90 only got to 65-70 water dribbles out of shower was primarily cold very disappointed

On the first night the heater was so loud we got no sleep. Maintenance fixed it only to start getting loud again. Had to turn it off completely. Day 3 and check out day, water developed an air lock and stopped working both days while trying to shower. Poor maintenance obviously. They did however discount the rooms both nights by maybe 10%. These are serious flaws in service, in my opinion.

I would like to apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your visit. I will certainly make the engineering department aware of the loud heater and assure they fix the problem. The hotel did also temporarily experience some issues with the water pressure, but the problems has since been fixed and we are no longer experiencing any problems. A group of friends and I stayed here for the weekend. The location is rather convenient. We were able to walk to restaurants and places to grab a few drinks. The bus is also very close (and if you're planning on making a day of galavanting, you could even buy a bus pass).

As for the hotel, the parking was free. I believe the even offered free wifi, but I recall it being very slow.

We didn't get to use the pool, but the pool does have a bar, though the scent of chlorine is very overwhelming.

One positive thing about this place is that it is right on the boardwalk, so with sliding glass doors and a balcony, the view is peaceful. However, the most detracting part of this place is the constant fire drills that go on - even throughout the middle of the night. I couldn't imagine having small children or an infant sleeping and constantly taking the stairs and waiting it out until the fire department cleared everyone to go back in.

Room Tip: I believe all of the room are ocean-view, so it's a win-win.

First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to review our property. The team here at the Grand Hotel & Spa takes all comments seriously and shares them with our staff. Both positive and negative feedback that you have provided us will allow us to make improvements to our business. We are delighted that you were able to be located closely to everything you need. We believe one of our greatest assets is the location and glorious views of the ocean that you mentioned in your review. Having said all this I am disappointed that you did have a few issues with your stay. We are in the process of upgrading our Wi-Fi system this off season, in the future if you are having Wi-Fi problems or it seems to be running to slow feel free to let one of our friendly staff at the front desk know so we can fix the problem. Lastly about the fire drills, every single fire alarm we had this past summer was legitimate and this was purely for the safety of our guests and staff. We do apologize that you were here when an alarm occurred but we take the safety of our guests very seriously. Thank you again for your visit to The Grand Hotel & Spa and we hope you come back and visit us again.

My husband and I came to get away for a couple of days. Our room was on the 12th floor with a king size bed and jacuzzi. The room was very spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the view of the ocean was amazing. The jacuzzi couldn't have been better. Our visit was everything we could have wanted and more. The hotel staff from the cleaning staff who were very polite and courteous to the front desk who always greeted us and offered us wonderful places to eat couldn't have been better. The game room and pool were great! Being that it is the off season, we truly felt like we were the only ones here which was great! We came for quiet and relaxation and that is exactly what we got. We will definitely be returning and recommending this hotel to all our family and friends.
