“Best breakfast around!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

The breakfast here was so good. I had homemade raisin french toast and it was delicous. My only complaint was it was a little slow the second time we went but it was a Friday and they were very busy.

Hello! We are so glad that you liked your cinnamon raisin french toast. We get the bread fresh from the local Crack of Dawn bakery. Thanks so much for giving us a try and we look forward to serving you again the next time you are in OC!

“Good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

Nice place to go for breakfast or lunch that is in walking distance from the princess royale. Small but popular joint that you cannot go wrong with.

Hello to a first timer! Thank you so much for trying Layton's on 92nd and for reviewing us on tripadvisor. So happy that you found our restaurant to be pleasing both in our decor and our cleanliness. Our staff works very hard to keep things tidy not only at the end of the work day, but during the busy breakfast hours as well.

There is in fact another Layton's downtown. Yes, the locations are owned by brothers. The locations are different in many ways. The southern location has been around since 1969 and our 92nd St. location has been going since 1979. The more the years pass by, the more different the places become. But many things are similar as well. Killer donuts at both. Great breakfast selection. Do we (us and our staff) think ours is better? Well... :)

Thanks so much for taking time out to write your review. We hope that you become a second timer and a third timer and so on and so on...but you do have a bit of a commute!

“Try the Monkey Bread”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Went for Breakfast. It had a diner like atmosphere with friendly staff.

They make their own donuts on site and have great Monkey bread.

It was a bit pricey for breakfast but it was just a short walk from our hotel.

Hello foodie, and thanks for your review! We love that you love our monkey bread. It is a newer item for us. When we tested it at first at home, it was a no-brainer to put it on the menu. How can you go wrong with melty cinnamon yumminess?!

As far as our prices go, I do apologize that you found us to be "pricey." We research the Ocean City breakfast restaurant menu prices every year to ensure that we are in fact competitive with them. You might find it interesting to know that we actually come in on the lower end of the scale. $2.50 f0r monkey bread? Cm'on, that's a steal!

Hope to serve you again.

“Not a place for two”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

The food was really good once we got a seat. Apparently, they don't have many tables for two. Groups of four, five and six came in after us and got seated right away, but we waited a half-hour. We were told that they can't give a table for four or more to just two people. I guess we weren't spending enough money.

Hello Debra R, I can not thank you enough for taking the time to review Layton's on 92nd. It is reviews like yours that make it worthwhile keeping up with this trip advisor thing. Great feedback from you. I must apologize to you that you had to wait so long for a smaller table. Although it is surprising that larger tables were in such abundance (they are usually the first to go!), I found it to be troublesome that you had to wait so long for a smaller table. Our hostesses have been instructed by all means to keep larger tables for larger parties on a potentially busy day, but not four tops! Since receiving your review, I have reviewed this policy with our hostess staff and explained to them by no means should a party of two not be seated at a four top. My husband and I are frequently a two top ourselves and I would never want to feel like a lesser customer because of it. I feel badly that you felt neglected. I hope you will try us again with your feedback put into place. It sounds like you enjoyed your meal, so that part makes me feel good. Again, I thank you so much for giving us your constructive feedback.
