Stayed at the Majestic from 7/13-7/16 and loved it. Rooms are a little small but it fit it's purpose. Close to everything! This hotel is very basic and doesn't have the amenities you would find at the Ritz or Hilton chain. Rooms are clean and quiet. I had ocean view room. My favorite part was the front porch with the rocking chairs. Sitting there relaxing and watching the ocean view and boardwalk goers. I would definitely stay here again. Hotel staff very friendly & accommodating. So close to the beach and in the middle of all the action.

Majestic Hotel is a great value. Its located right on the boardwalk and close to everything you could want or need in OC. We stayed in a room that had a double bed and a twin. It was perfect for our little family of 3. Upon arrival we were allowed to check in early- which was awesome! Not many OC hotels are that accomidating. When we entered our room my son discovered the bathroom light was not working. I'm glad he noticed so soon. We alerted the front desk and it was fixed within 2 hours. It would have been fixed sooner, but they needed to go get a part. The other little annoyance is on Sunday morning we woke to no hot water. The front desk said they were aware and they were working on it right now. Apparently the heating element went out on the hot water heater. One great thing that is not always present in oc was GREAT water pressure. Over all we would def. stay again.

The Majestic doesn't pretend to be a fancy, high-class hotel. It is exactly what they tout themselves as - an older hotel, on the boardwalk, with nothing extra. The hotel is clean, in a fantastic location, and offers a nice place to lay one's head at the end of the day. I stayed with a friend in July, 2012. We stayed for only one night, and had a one-bed room. The room was very small - again, exactly as we expected. Yes, things are outdated - no fancy new tvs, out-dated decor - but we didn't go there expecting the Ritz. The front desk still uses a typewriter instead of a computer. There are actual keys instead of keycards. It is like going back in time - but in a good way. The rocking chairs on the porch are very enjoyable - a nice place to sit and people-watch. The only issue we had was a toilet that would not shut off. We called the front desk, and the maintainence guy was there within 2 minutes to fix it. Additionally, we were parked in by another car in the parking lot - not the hotel's fault - but when we called to tell them, the front desk guy literally RAN outside to find out who the car belonged to, called that other client, and had them move the car. Bottom line, if you are looking for a cheap hotel just for a place to sleep and shower, this will be fine. If you're looking for something fancy, it's not going to be the place for you. I'd stay again.

Room Tip: The hotel does not provide shampoo/conditioner, so bring your own!

This is a nice older hotel. We've stayed here in the past and it has always been pleasant. The location is great and the price was reasonable for a hotel right on the boardwalk in peak season. Keep in mind this is not some fancy generic chain hotel. It is older, but clean and everyone there was nice.

I’m reading the bad reviews and I have to say what planet are you from!
This is OC not Hawaii; you’re paying 150 a night not 500!
I’ve been staying at the Majestic for about 30 years.
It’s family run and has been for at least three generations. I’ve stayed at literally dozens of places in OC from condos to the Holiday Inn and they’re all about the same. Some are a little nicer than others, but you pay for the privilege. If you want to spend all of your time in your room go somewhere else OC is not for you! The beach is the best on the East Coast.
I like the Majestic because the location is super! At 7th and Boardwalk you’re far enough away from the Inlet noise yet close enough to all of the action. I know I can walk down to the Purple Moose and hear some live music or walk in the other direction and have a good meal at Phillips. When you come back the Majestic you can sit outside on the deck in a rocking chair just watching the people walk by.
For me after I’ve rocked for a while I usually go to my room and collapse only to awake the next morning to start all over again.
I believe that the Majestic is a bargain probably the best bargain on the Boardwalk.

we stayed here with 2 kids in summer 2011, although the rooms are outdated, the place is in a great location. one good thing about it is you dont need elevator to get to room. we stayed in the first room on the left at the top of the steps, so it was very easy in and out all day long. simple, friendly, outdated with small bathroom, but we are hardly in our room so works for us! prob would stay here again. i like how they make teens wear a wrist band so they know if you are from the hotel or not. good idea to keep others from coming and going in since so close to boardwalk!!

We recently stayed in one of the apartments owned by the Majestic Hotel. We were horrified when we walked in. So outdated and creepy. The furniture was quite worn. The mauve carpeting has burn marks on it from cigarettes. Funky smell. The 2 bedrooms were so small that they could barely fit the double beds and dresser. Had to turn off the window A/C at night because it blew right in you face. When it got hot I turned it back on and put the covers over my head. Kitchen was carpeted with some gray fuzzy stuff with contact paper on the walls. Toaster did not automatically pop up so the 1st time we used it our toast got burnt. Some of the forks in the drawer looked like they had not been washed from the last tenant. Refused ot cook anything in the kitchen so ate out every night which defeated the purpose of having an apartment. One bathroom was so dated that we refused to use it. The paint on the vanity was peeling off. Thank got the second bath was updated and was ok to use. Only thing good about this place is the location and the pool was very clean.
