There are so many hotels along this stretch of coast line don't choose this one! Yes its near to the beach but they all are! Our teenage kids loved the games room and free internet but the hotel reception and room smelt funny! The staff were indifferent and even got shirty when we requested new tennis balls cos the ones the gave us were broken! Beds were made but only the top sheet was straightened, they couldn't be bothered to straighten the lower sheet.- never had that before! Also only one net curtain across half the window so had to keep curtain closed as room faced a path. Room wasn't cleaned till 3pm one day. Minor moans in the scheme of things but contributed to the couldn't care less attitude that permeated the place.

Overall the hotel is okay but you can see most of the indoor areas are in dire need of updating. The inside pool, hot tub and sauna areas are not worth visiting due to their condition. The rooms are clean and adequate but could also use a facelift.

Altho not a pristine, perfect hotel was a wonderful place to spend a week with kids. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The Concierge really knew her stuff! The kids activities were a big plus, time alone for parents!! The room was big and comfortable with a huge tv, fireplace and a balcony overlooking the beach. Full kitchen with dishwasher and plenty of utensils. The room was clean everyday. The pools were big enough and clean with plenty of towels. There was a bar at the outdoor pool but it wasn't intrusive or overly loud. The lobby always had a basket of fresh fruit available and there was a piano that no one got excited if your kids touched it a bit. Right outside was a grocery store and the bus stop which took you down to the boardwalk for $2 all day! Free parking too. The beach was right outside the hotel so there's no need to drive and park anywhere if you don't want to.

You must wear flip-flops around the pool. The in-laid pebbles in the concrete will rip the soles of your feet. It's a good thing I brought lots of band-aids. The swim-up bar is very nice, but I was amazed, as I sat sunning myself for 6 hours, I did not see any adults leave the swim-up bar to use the rest room. WOW, What magnificent bladder control !!!! ,If you wish to ride the bus to the boardwalk ,it's about 35 to 45 minutes, depending on all the stops. Rooms need updated, bathrooms look old, cleaning was sporatic. You need more outside spray stations to get the sand off, maybe then it won't be on the bottom of the pool.

This is the first time in a very long time I have hated a hotel room this much in a very long time. The bottom line is that the hotel is old, beat, and FAR from being properly maintained. The only thing nice about it is the view and being in Ocean City. The drive in was not so bad, and finding the hotel wasn’t hard. The exterior facing the Coastal Highway was very nice and looks new, but the side facing the beach has chipped paint and dirty walls.
Checking-in wasn’t too swell either. There was only one clerk and a line of about 4 families, 2 checking in and another 2 complaining about their horrid stay. Once stepping off the elevator on the 7th floor, our nightmare began. THE WORST THING ABOUT THE HOTEL WAS THE STENCH! Seriously, haven’t theses people heard about Febreeze, or how to clean a hallway?? The hallway going to our room was very low to the ground, dark and damp, with an old dirty carpet. All the doors did not seem very safe, because once we entered and closed our room’s door, you could all the gaps. We were also welcomed to our rooms with a couple of flies, gross. The room smelled just as bad as the hallway, not mild, unbearable. Starting with the bathroom, all the fixtures were old and outdated, and the bathtub had a grimy ring around it. The kitchen was the same way. The dishwasher, had a stain all over the front and the oven looked like it was from the 80’
S, all the grates didn’t fit. The fridge was also very rusty, as my photos prove.
On another review, the manager stated the hotel had been “up-dated,” I didn’t see any of the updates said. I would have never prepared any food in that dingy kitchen and of course the “virtual tour” doesn’t show it up close. The room also looked much larger online. The beds were fair but the pull-out’s mattress was disgusting. The only plus was the view of the balcony, but everything else was horrible. I still can’t forget that wretched smell. The indoor pool looks so blue online, but there it was very cloudy and had more sand than the beach did. The hot tub did not work and also hadn’t been cleaned in a while.
At night, the fridge leaked clear-water all over the laminate floor, each and every night; a law-suit waiting to happen. In our 2nd day of staying the room was not re-cleaned so we had to leave our room for our new sheets late at night; which should have been done during the day while we were at the beach. The new sheets for the pull-out were still wet and were not washed for some reason, gross.
The only positive about it was the view, and I love going to Ocean City, but seriously, there are plenty of other hotels to get the same view. Stay clear of the Holidump Inn in Ocean City, Maryland.

I favor this hotel not only for cleanliness, wonderful customer service/staff and parking, but mainly for the gorgeous oceanfront views, balcony, beach access and safety. I always ask for peace and quiet, which is hard to get much of- after all it is a beachfront hotel- but the rooms I am given for my stays work out perfectly! It's my favorite place to relieve my stress!!

This was my first time staying in the Holiday Inn Ocean City Maryland. I booked this trip 5 months in advance and got a wonderful room facing the ocean from the 4th floor. I can tell you it was the perfect view. We kept the door open a few nights to listen to the waves and yes we did hear them. When we arrived our room was available right away and there was bell service to take our bags up. The room was clean. If you don't want to stay on or by the Boardwalk this is the place for you. The pool was clean and we really loved the hamocks. We did not order any room service since there was a small efficiency kitchen. The only minus was the air conditioning seemed to make a very loud buzzing noise at night which was annoying. I would recommend this hotel and would stay in it again.
