“Fun Weekend in the 'dead of winter'”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

Excellent room overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean !! Hotel was well staffed for the weekend guests. Price was right too !! We were going to look around for a different location, BUT decided to come back to what we know and like the Best. DUNES MANOR. Play off weekend for the Baltimore Ravens (I'm a Tom Brady fan) but still had a great time

Room Tip: ALL rooms face the Ocean. We stay here every year we come down to OC

We stayed at the Dunes Manor last minute. We have stayed here before years ago. Staff was courteous and hotel was great. Oceanfront, renovated rooms, beautiful decor. Actually all rooms are oceanfront which is wonderful. We had a king room. Carpet was new. Room was freshly painted. Linens were also new. Only complaint is it seemed like the linens were put on the bed without being washed. They were very scratchy including the pillow cases. Also, the mattress was not the most comfortable. Very hard. Had strong water pressure for a good hot shower. Did not eat in the restauant this time. However, in the past when we did, the food was always good. Off season price for the room was very very reasonable. We would definitely stay here again.

My favorite time at a beach resort is off-season. The crowds are non existent and the pace is to my liking. The Dunes Manor Hotel has renovated the guestrooms. The color scheme is restful, Sleeping, once I surrendered to the waves lapping on the beach outside my room, was just dreamy! Even in the off-season the hotel restaurant proved exceptional. Eggs Benedict was just right as was the coffee. Dinner on the first night was their scallop and shrimp risotto made with a light touch. The next evening, their crab imperial proved exceptional. A Sidecar and a glass of chardonnay were perfect companions. The staff was attentive with being intrusive. I greatly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend The Dunes Manor.

Room Tip: All rooms face the ocean but I prefer an upper floor for the view. The suite, 709, was spacious with...

Our son's wedding was the weekend after Hurricane Sandy in November. Guests stayed at the Dunes Manor, a lovely Victorian inspired hotel, and the ceremony was held on the beach in front of the hotel. What a beautiful day after such a devastating storm. This was a great location and the staff was extremely helpful during this stressful time. We had a brunch the day after the wedding for about 60 people. The restaurant looks out on the ocean and the service and food was very good. The hotel staff was courteous, very professional and wonderful to work with. Their off season rate was a great deal for our guests too who enjoyed ocean views from their rooms.

If you want to feel special...stay at Dunes Manor Hotel.
Ocean front.! Dining at the Victorian Room is wonderful.
I had french toast one morning and blueberry waffle another, both great.
Linen table cloth for lunch and dinner...special.
The crab stuffed flounder was delicious!
Early bird dinner specials.
Went back for dessert; key lime pie.
Lunch another day. You need not leave the place for wonderful food.
Afternoon tea and crumpets.
Popcorn in the bar.
Citrus water in the lobby.
Morning coffee and tea in lobby.
I felt special the whole time I was there.
Piano and sing along on Friday and Saturday eveings, a treat. Attended by many.
Rocking chairs on the grand front porch.
Easy beach access.
The rooms have had a face lift. I have been coming for at least ten years and true they did need some attention. They have painted and have new bedding/drapes. Blue and white in my room. Experienced staff; Bob, Pam, Carol.
They offer little extra's that make you feel special.

Room Tip: I had to use the heat because it was December/Jan. I turned it off when I could so I could hear the...

We took a short trip to OC 12/20-21/12 with the in laws to see Winterfest. This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is somewhat dated although extremely charming. The Victorian era lobby was fully decorated for Christmas and the hotel offered a very nice afternoon tea with all the accoutrements. They are remodeling the rooms. We stayed in one of their newer rooms. The room was inviting and like all their rooms had a great view of the ocean! We experienced some issues on the first night given the new room(door seal was not properly installed and the room head a draft). Upon letting the front desk know of the issue they corrected it right away. Friday night Santa Claus made an appearance with cookies and hot chocolate. A great way to get into this Christmas Spirit! This was followed by a wonderful session of Christmas carols accompanied by a piano player, Shirley. It was a great way to meet some locals who come in to sing along as well. We felt very welcomed and overall it was a Wonderful experience. Just the perfect recipe to get into the Christmas Spirit!

Okay lets be honest. I live in DC and don't think I would be caught dead in OC during peak season. Rehoboth is more my speed. However, I was attending a conference here over Halloween weekend and pleasantly surprised by the entire off peak experience. We basically had the run of the town and this was a great launching pad. The hotel is so cute and cozy with old-fashioned quality customer service. The free tea and crumpets in the lobby daily cant be beat. The weather was pretty nice, other than Sandy bearing down on us, and the oceanfront deck and boardwalk made enjoying the outdoors very pleasant. The oceanfront room was fairly updated, clean, and contained all the basics such as microwave, fridge, free wifi. Falling asleep with the window open on the balcony and the ocean rolling in was PRICELESS. We hit the town in the evenings after the conference and were happy to find rollicking fun at the more popular restaurants in town and Seacrests Halloween was a blast and packed lol! I would def return to this hotel and conference annually in OC as its a nice Fall reprieve from DC.
