This hotel is a nice location at the end of the boardwalk. It is also off the road, so the noise levels are low. Every room has a balcony and an ocean view which is great. The lobby is nice with an old victorian theme. They have a piano and there was a guy playing in the afternoon. I went here for work and didnt spend too much time in the room. The rooms however are outdated and dirty. My room had cereal in the wall unit (A/C) and there were crumbs in all the corners and hard to reach with the vaccum areas. The rooms have a mini fridge and microwave, it also has a coffe maker. The drapes had holes in them which i didnt notice until the sun came up and shone threw the holes. The front desk gave all departing guests a letter asking us to update trip advisor, i do hope that they will update and clean these rooms, I would come back if they did.

We stayed here due to a business trip my husband. He stayed here before so that is why he chose this one again. I have to say it was fairly clean and a nice location for the beach, but the help here was NOT overly friendly except the Barefoot Grill bartender . Also the out door pool was dissappointing and unkept. The price they are charging for the rooms here is NOT worth it at all. We travel a lot and I was dissappointed here for $267.00 a night.

We have visisted this hotel before and we experienced the same clean rooms, clean property and great service again this year. There is a great sand bar to visit for lunch, snacks or a drink on the way in from the beach. The porch nas wonderful wooden rocking chairs and faces the oceans, as do all of the rooms. We have stayed here many times and will be back again next year.

This is a difficult review to write because OC is such a unique place and some things are just taken as a given - like lousy towels. I'm not sure if there even is a hotel or motel in Ocean City with decent towels! I've never found one. So I'm finally getting around to complaining & hope others will too so we can change this! Because when I spend $275/night for an ocean view room in a hotel that is trying to be nice - with tea and crumpets in the afternoon and a pianist in the evening it is very disappointing to get the standard issue OC scratchy towel set! And the sheets did not fit the bed. The fitted sheets ever so barely fit over the mattress edge so when you got on the bed, the sheets sprang off the edges! (I mentioned this upon check out to the Asst. Manager who responded that she'd pass my comments on to the head of housekeeping.) The rooms are spacious, well equipped and clean. Fantastic happy hour in the lobby bar with kind and helpful bartenders. Great balcony to relax on. Rocking chairs. Many of the staff members were from Macedonia and didn't seem to understand the concept of Mid-Atlantic Beach Hospitality. The bell hop told the woman behind me, "You can wait, it won't kill you." when a simple, be right with you would have sufficed. The breakfast hostess was listless and rude but the year-round waitress who told us she'd been there "since dirt was new" more than made up for it. So, this is a mixed bag review - I hope it is somewhat helpful!

This Hotel is awesome. The staff are ALL very attentive and eager to please. Between the restaurant and the cafe's, one would never have to leave the place. The rooms were great with the oceanfront decks, the food was wonderful, and breakfast by the beach outside was superb.
I have been vacationing in Ocean City for years and I will never stay anywhere else but at the Dunes.

Room Tip: Second Floor has 4 rooms with Huge Decks instead of just a balcony

We had a chance to take family to the beach at the last minute, and checled their website. We were accommodated quickly and pleasantly. Two adjacent rooms for 4 adults and 2 grandchildren. Staff was courteous and knowledgable. Our chain lock for balcony on 7th floor needed to be repaired, and it was fixed immediately. Rooms were clean, kept clean during our five days. Enjoyed the three restaurants - one more formal (Victorian room), outside deck with flowers and rocking chairs (lovely), and bar/grill on beach level was convenient. Beach immediately in front of hotel; free parking, bellhops. Loved indoor-outdoor pool. One block from boardwalk and tram, 7-Eleven and laundry nearly, as was amusement park, water park and miniature golf. Bus line also on main drag. Food was delicious, kitchen was quick, staff was pleasant and friendly. This is not a five star resort, but had elements of it. Yes, we will return!

Room Tip: Comfortable beds, alarm clock radio, small balcony, t.v., mini-kitchen (microwave and small frig, co...

We stayed in a third floor beachfront unit in August 2011. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The view was excellent with double windows and a balcony overlooking the beach. The weather was good enough to leave the windows open to fall asleep and awake to the sound of the ocean waves rolling in. The hotel's location helped since it is just north of the end of the boardwalk. It is close enough to walk to catch a boardwalk tram yet far enough away to avoid noise. Beach access is excellent - just walk out the lower level and you're there. The beach was realtively uncrowded for such a popular time of year.

The hotel is attractive, parking is plentiful, and staff service prompt and courteous. The only negatives we found were minor: slow elevators and some hotel staff taking smoke breaks in the underground garage. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and will be back again.
