Easy 1 1/2 mile hike and four waterfalls, including Muddy Creek, the tallest waterfall in MD. A very nice park --must be beautiful in the Spring.

This park is well maintained with clearly marked hiking paths. The views of the fall colors (when we went) were spectacular with the backdrop of the water and falls. We did the longer 2.5 mile hike, which I'd highly recommend. Since we went at the end of Sept, several dogs were on the trail, on leashes of course.

Wonderful spot in Garrett County to enjoy the quiet environs of an old growth forest. $5 entry fee per car for out of staters. $3 for Maryland residents.

Stunning rock formations and water falls beneath towering old growth White Pine and Hemlock trees. Very quiet and private spot to spend a few hours or the entire day. This place is on my must-do list whenever I visit Western Maryland. See Tolliver, Swallow and Muddy Falls. It's a winner.

We hiked on several trails in the woods and along the rivers and water falls. The state park is trying to preserve the Hemlock trees with a program to prevent and treat diseases which may be spreading from the south. The trails are clearly marked in a state forest which is historically very old. Great place to visit and get away from the big city. Excellent area of Western Maryland to visit, relax and enjoy nature.
