“Our First MD Crab Cake”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

This place was recommended to us by some locals in Delaware. It is not too far from where we were staying in Newark. The town of North East was what you would think of for a small Chesapeake Bay town. Some nice shops and restaurants and parking was not too bad, parallel on street parking. The restaurant is an open area with booths and tables with a family friendly atmosphere. The outside patio also has a few tables. We were seated quickly and ready to try our first crab cakes. They were awesome. Good pieces of lump crab with not too much breading. We also tried the peach bread pudding. It was very good as well, just the right about of sweet for us. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good crab cake in a nice small town.

The food was good, the staff were very friendly. They were out of cider, but the server recommended another yummy drink.

“OMG!”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

What a delightful place to stumble into! We leave Chesapeake City and went to North East to get a couple of things at West Marine. Did a search of restaurants in North East and came up with 2 (Woody's was one of them). Drove to the first one, but it was closed. HOWEVER, on the way thru town, I saw Woody's and it was open. So we circled back thru and stopped. What a GREAT place! I had the Crab Bisque and it was chunked full of crab. The base itself was not too sweet so it highlighted the taste of the Bisque. They I had 1/2 dozen oysters on the half shell. They were plumb and juicy with a sweet taste! My husband had the Maryland Crab Soup and said it was some of the best he ever had. He also ordered the Oyster Sampler which had 2 oysters on the half shell, 2 oysters rockerfeller, 2 grilled oysters and 4 fried oysters. Again, the rockerfeller's were almost as good as he got at Felix's in New Orleans! Joe, our waitstaff, was helpful, polite and efficient. His service was the icing on the cake for a thoroughly enjoyable lunch!

“Loud, relaxed and yummy...”
Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

A favorite place to bring out-of-towners. Peanuts to snack on with shells brushed on the ground give Woodys a relaxed, homey feel. Crab bisque with a splash of sherry is a must every time. Iceberg wedge is zesty. I love the fried clams, crab cakes, and surf and turf.

“best little secret off I95”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

as we entered the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed and seated right away. Angela, our waitress first informed us that there was a new trainee named, Joe, with her. We responded that we were the right customers for his task....we have patience and time. The Chesapeake Blue Crabs were still too early in season for us to order so we had 2 appetizers, oysters trio and coconut shrimp. They were both delicious and tasty. then we each ordered a tuna and mahi sandwiches They were both made to our specifications. They came hot with their famous freshly made fries and lots of side condiments. Angela and Joe kept coming back and checking to see if everything was fine. It was a rainy day, so we were contemplating on ordering some soup, but we were too full. Angela recommended the Maryland Crab Chowder, so we ordered a takeout. The next day we had it for lunch......very tasty and delightful with their secret seasoning. We want to make a special trip when the blue crabs are in season.
