Two Tree Restaurant is like a quiet genius, tucked away in Millington it serves great homemade food with a twist. The sauces are the real deal, there is nothing processed. The atmosphere is light and open, the staff is welcoming and friendly and the menu is varied and appealing. Without fanfare the food speaks for itself and it sure has a lot to say. During our visit the special appetizers of the day, steamed clams in curry sauce and panko-crusted asparagus, were completely unexpected and oh-so-good. The butternut squash and mushroom soup was simultaneously smooth, creamy and sweet and spicy, thick and warm; perfect for fall. The shrimp and grits were like no other, served with an incredible spicy sauce and the seared sesame-crusted tuna and Wasabi sauce and seaweed salad was the best I have had. Finally, Two Tree does DESSERT. All homemade and appetizing, it is hard to narrow down to one per person, I wanted an assortment of everything. Since our lunch was so amazing I knew our dessert would be icing on the cake. How could I choose just one? The persimmon pudding was hard to pass up for novelty's sake. Hard to describe but to paraphrase our waiter it is like a bread pudding without the bread, sweet but not too much. The coconut custard pie was like no other. Both were superb and gone too quickly. I am so glad to have this rock star restaurant living in our neck of the woods.
