“Fantastic B&B in Western MD”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2012

My wife and I spent three nights at the Lake Pointe to celebrate our anniversary. Upon our arrival Chris greeted us warmly and got us settled in our room. I do not think we have stayed at a place that is more focused on their guests - from spare 'cheater' reading glasses adjacent to the newspapers in the wood paneled reading room to complimentary hot hors d'oeuvres with wine every afternoon - they are dedicated to you having a wonderful stay. Our room was very cozy with a gas fireplace in the room and a gorgeous view overlooking Deep Creek Lake.

The breakfasts are also an experience - different each morning and a gourmet delight. While there is no dinner served there are always snacks and beverages available if you get hungry. The area has plenty of restaurants and activities, likely because of the folks visiting Wisp Ski area and the lake.

In short we had a fabulous stay and can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Sam Leff room - highly recommend it.

My husband and I first went to the Lake Pointe Inn last June (2011). Since then we returned two other times (late-September and mid-December). All the rooms are uniquely nice and cozy. There are things to do (canoes, bikes, etc.), but it's also nice to just hang out inside by the fireplace or out on the wrap around porch when the weather is warmer. Such a nice place, easy to get to from Pittsburgh, and the innkeeper the staff are fabulous! We also enjoyed Steve, the pontoon captain who took us on "tours" of the Lake every evening (we missed that in December!).

Room Tip: Check out the website! You can view each of the rooms; they look EXACTLY as shown on the website!

It doesn't get any better! This B&B is flawless. Ed, the proprietor, makes you feel like his every minute is dedicated to making certain each guest is pampered to tears. The facility is stunning -- our "Glotfelty Room" had a seperate sitting area, balcony, gas fireplace visible from both the sitting room and bedroom, and views of both Deep Creek Lake and Wisp Resort Ski slopes.
Every amenity you could possibly want -- snacks, beverages, fantastic personalized breakfast, etc all included in the price.

A stunning historic property, even the most discriminating world travelers (like us) couldn't find a thing not to like.

Thanks Ed and crew.

Room Tip: All rooms are nice, but we think the rooms with the sitting areas are worth the little extra that th...

Went went to Lake Pointe Inn to celebrate my husbands birthday and as a Christmas gift to our two daughter's and their boyfriends. We booked 3 wonderful rooms at the Inn. We arrived to fresh baked chocolate cookies and other goodies in the dining room. Wine was set out and horderves shortly thereafter. We had rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Savage was ours and loved it as much as we did the first time we stayed here. Our daughter's were in the Glotfelty and Buffalo Marsh rooms. Each has it's own excellence. We all gathered in our room a few times to play games and visit. We all loved our bath experiences, balcony's(2 of us) and the wonderful breakfast's we were served each day. Roasted marshmallows the first night in the fire pit, rained but visited area sites and snowed the 2nd night. All the amenities at Lake Pointe are excellent, top notch. Wisp is right across the street and Deep Creek Lake right out back. Can't wait to return. So comfortable, hospitable and relaxing. Glad we could share this with our adult daughters and their mates. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: All three room that we booked were superb. We love the Savage because of the 3rd floor and balcony...

My Boyfriend took me on a short get away to Lake Pointe Inn. Although it is pretty and the rooms are nice, It is WAY over priced. $300 a Night....This is not the Hilton!! Signs on the back of the door restrict when the Jacuzzi tubs can be used, We could hear EVERYTHING going on in the next room, kept us up half the night. We found the maid to be nosy and intrusive. The property is NOT what is depicted in their ads.....it is in the middle of a development not a secluded place on the lake. They do offer free internet and a computer to use but we could not get it to work and there is no staff on property in the evening, so if you need help your stuck. This was an okay trip, could have spent the money more wisely on a much better place.

I surprised my husband for our anniversary in November to stay the weekend in the Friend Room at the Lake Pointe Inn. After debating where to stay, I am so elated this place was chosen. The Inn is very homey and welcoming. The staff goes the extra mile with the little details. We checked in to find a fire burning inside and outside, roasting marshmallows, blankets to wrap around yourself, complimentary drinks/wine/beer, cookies, granola, etc. throughout the common areas, there are books and movies for your enjoyment. The Inn has mulitple "quiet" places for you to escape.
The breakfasts were wonderful and plenty. They did an amazing job with food allergies. I would recommend the sauna and spa. Cathy, the therapist, was soothing and professional. We explored Swallow Falls State Park nearby then ate a late lunch at the Cornish Manor.... wonderful. When we returned, Ed, the Innkeeper hosted a wine and local cheese get together. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and meeting with others. There are other amenities such as canoes, bikes, hammocks, etc we did not utilize during our stay but are there for your liking.
Our room was the Friend. It had a small reading area overlooking the lake. Our queen bed was comfortable. Cozy robes were awaiting our comfort following the spa tub. The gas fireplace could be enjoyed from the bed or spa tub area. The bathroom was spacious and had multiple shower heads. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the rooms selected.
We have stayed at several bed and breakfast inns.... this is by far one of my favorites. I can see why they are a part of the Select Registry. The location is ideal. We will be back.
