“Excellent Daily special!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

My teenage daughter and I went here while staying in deep creek and ate outside (by ourselves!) on the patio with a view of the lake. I had the special of the day which was 2 rock lobster tails on a bed of orzo (i think) pasta with two delicious cheeses and bacon (delicious!!!) with soup or salad, and a dessert all for $28! The waitress was lovely and overall it was well worth it. It's not expensive if you go for the special or the lighter fare options...and it's definitely worth it.

“Best dining around Deep Creek”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

After visiting Will O Wisp twice in August and previously in January, we think it is the best diining option in the Deep Creek area. The setting is lovely, with a panoramic view over the lake. The menu has nice choices, and the food is outstanding. Service is friendly, although perhaps a bit unpolished at times. We would certainly go back.

“BE WARNED! Truly vile & inordinately expensive!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

Our family mostly opted for a hyped-trough feeding entitled "pasta mania". It was truly one of the worst dining experiences ever, and I am old. We attempted to celebrate a birthday.
It was an harbinger of things ahead at Deep Creek Lake.
My portion was tasteless and most likely the 'sauce' came from a 55G barrel. It was individually prepared-heated by profusely, perspiring 'cooks' and dished over gummy, limpid, flaccid pasta. One was rushed to choose among several additions to the 'sauce' sauteed rapidly over flame without time for thoughtful consideration by the prospective diner. Granted, my 'eating' was only one of several served. None received even a good review from members of our family.
The noise level was overbearing, and we were in a server traffic pattern.
Our server was very pleasant and competent.
This 'eatery' obviously caters to the 'buffalo' seeking a stuffing rather than a reasonable dining experience- It was disappointing and very expensive, considering our dinners.

“The Four Seasons Dining Room offers a superb view of the lake.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2012

On a recent trip to Morgantown, WV, we drove to Deep Creek Lake in Maryland for dinner. My family of origin often visited Deep Creek lake and Will O’ the Wisp. In recent years, various opportunities have provided for a dinner visit to the Four Seasons Dining Room and to the Will O’ the Wisp lounge.

Both the Will O’ the Wisp lounge and Deep Creek Lake remind us of several favorite Colorado restaurants. Upscale, white table cloth, beautiful stone, and woodwork compliment a great view of Deep Creek Lake. We arrive early to ensure a window table for the views.

I-68 provides a beautiful east west corridor for a motor trip to the Maryland mountains. The Western Maryland topography is set in the Allegheny Highlands and the Appalachian Mountains.

The Four Seasons Dining Room offers a limited menu, a full bar, and an informed wait staff. We don’t do veal, and the salmon is not from the waters of the Pacific, and I am not convinced about the Crab Imperial.

A nice bottle of Chardonnay and the views of Deep Creek Lake give us pause as we consider and re-consider the menu (or rather the views.) Seems that I cannot go wrong with the New York Strip, (rare-medium-rare,) and the steak requires a Cabernet Sauvignon. My wife is pleased to order the pork loin. We find the tariff to be in line with the fare.

Perhaps, two “ordinary choices;” however, the ambience, views, and service combine to offer a very special evening, and provide a reason to look forward to a future visit.

The Four Seasons Dining Room, the ambience, and the experience qualify as a date night with your wife.

“THE Will-o'-the-Wisp is out on the marsh,
And all alone he goes;
There's not a sight of his glimmering light
From break of day to close;
But all night long, from dusk till dawn,
He drifts where the night wind blows….”

“Good Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2012

This place has really good food, but the bad thing is that it's over priced, but what can you expect from a Ski Resort?! The people working there are pretty nice and helpful.
