We had stayed here before a couple of times for weekend getaways and have always had a wonderful time. The house has a wonderful history and beautiful grounds, perfect for any time of year (we have been there in the late, late fall as well as summer).

We enjoyed swinging in the hammock (big enough for two) and there are kayaks and bikes for you to borrow too. And how can you beat breakfast (fruit, eggs, scrapple, muffins, biscuits, and coffee) in a room with a full view of the bay?? Gorgeous!

The only downside is that its kinda far from the center of St. Michaels (about 4.5 miles), but that also means, its ridiculously quiet... you can hear the birds during the day and the frogs at dusk. And the staff and owner are really friendly.

We stayed for 2 nights at this absolutely beautiful location on the bay with waterfront view from room. Awesome sunsets, too!
Very nice sized bathroom and comfortable bed. Staff was accomodating and prompt for cleaning room in morning. Comfortable stay overall. Lovely breakfast room area, although the overall menu was somewhat frugal in presentation. There is room for improvement in terms of more breakfast variety and price of the room for the night at this inn(We paid $470 total for 2 nights. Our experience with comparable and better inns has been less cost-wise. Breakfast for each morning included fresh baked muffins, store-bought rolls, overly sweet granola, oj, scones, melon balls, and egg casserole. Tea and coffee also available. Would have also liked some afternoon/early evening treats, e.g. cookies and /or fresh fruit. TV would have been nice for watching a movie while enjoying our stay. I would recommend this place for a fairly conservative individual who enjoys a lovely view of the bay.

This place was wonderful from the moment we drove up the tree-lined gravel road to get to it. We had the place to ourselves the weekend before memorial weekend, and in fact our first night there we were the only ones occupying the old original house. We got upgraded for free to the best room there and it had its own (huge) private balcony off the bathroom, complete with two rocking chairs, plus another balcony off to the water on the other side with two dockside chairs. The American flag flying off the bathroom balcony with the lush foliage and quaint farmhouse across the yard gave me plenty of photo opportunities during our two night stay. We relaxed after breakfast every morning reading our Kindles on the dock by the water listening to the water lap at the edge of the dock and getting some morning sun. For die-hard sunbathers there are lounge chairs along the edge of the water where one could lay and catch a tan. We also lingered at the dock during and after sunset both nights which also provided for some nice photo opportunities. It was a great time with my mom and I hope we can return there someday soon. Oh I almost forgot, we went sailing on the Lady Patty with Captain Chris Richards, and it was a highlight of our time in St. Michaels/Tilghman Island. We were the only two on the sailboat - how lucky were we??

We stayed at the Wades Point Inn for two nights. The views of the bay are astonishing. The grounds are lovely and make for a very romantic setting. However, we were a little disappointed with the room - it was cute but very plain - and the bathroom was down the hall, which was a little inconvenient. Breakfast was not the best, muffins and granola - and some sort of egg dish, which neither of us found very tasty. We were surprised to wake up on the second day and find that breakfast was the exact same thing as the day before. With little effort, it could have been much better. However, the Inn itself is incredible and has very distinct character. We enjoyed our trip and would recommend it to our friends.

Thanks for all the lovely comments. You stayed in the Victorian summer wing which does indeed have incredible views but is an entirely different experience from the 1990's built Kemp House. For a liitle over 100yrs the Wades Point family of guests shared 1 bath and 1 half-bath among 14 rooms. Our renovations have created private baths for all 8 of the summer wing rooms, 6 being in the room while 2 are an old fashioned trek down the hall. It has been our goal to maintain and respect the character of this 1890s wing and therefore is not for everyone. When we have room availability we do try to match our guests to the room.

If you like to capture the breeze, read a book under the tree, step into history, or just relax with people you care about - spend some time at Wades Inn. This is perfect for those of you who know how to unwind. Take a long walk or run, walk shoeless on the plush green grass, or capture a little shut eye resting in a secluded hamock - Just minutes from shopping, sailing/boating, restaurants, and the best of St. Michaels - Rooms are B&B quaint - breakfast is wonderful - and there is tranquility everywhere.
Go have fun and you just might fall in Love!

This should have been spectacular, given the outstanding location on the Chesapeake Bay. But this turned out to be a very ordinary inn. The rooms in the guest house were no better than a good motel - yes, I said "motel" not "hotel". And these were the expensive rooms. All the fine details you expect from an upscale inn were missing. The coffee in the morning was poor. The breakfast consisted of ordinary muffins and rolls, and oversweet granola. The grounds were only moderately well kept. If it were half the price, I might even call it charming, but there's no justification for the rates here. I won't be back.
