“Okay for a One Night Stay..... That's it!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2012

We stayed here one night before a flight left because we came in to town extra late and most hotels were booked so we were referred here. The price is right.... You get what you pay for. We were on the first floor which is supposed to be nonsmoking but you could clearly smell that someone previously had smoked in this room. It wasn't too bad though!

The bed was very comfortable. No complaints at all!! The room was spacious and I loved that they have flight departures and arrivals on the TV's in your room. The continental breakfast was indeed continental. Once again no complaints. You get what you pay for!!

We also left our car parked there while we were away and it was well worth it. $7 a day and free shuttle/taxi service to and from the airport. They picked us up in about 10 minutes after we called once we arrived to the airport. Our car was perfectly safe once we returned.

If the surrounding hotels are booked and prices are outrageous then I will book here again!!

I booked this hotel via hotwire's "secret" room booking feature that supposedly gets you a better rate. I won't be doing that again. I ended up pay $65 with taxes to stay at the Microtel so i wouldn't have to take a 3 hour car ride during morning traffic.

I will honestly say, the lobby of this hotel is the worst smelling lobby i have EVER experienced. It reeks of cigarette smoke and faux "air freshener"....let's just say the cigarette smell is winning. I have been in hard-drinkin' bars that smell better than this lobby. I wonder whether the owner permits employees to smoke in the office and perhaps that's why the place smells so bad. Whatever the cause, i would like to suggest to the owner that they ban smoking in all public areas of the hotel.

Luckily, i'd called the morning i made the booking to request a non-smoking room. Thankfully, that's what i was given. Unfortunately, the non-smoking rooms are on the first floor and i was affraid our room would smell bad as a result of simple air mixing. It was tolerable and i was affraid to ask to change rooms because i was affraid i'd get something worse.

The room was odd. The sleeping quarters had a smokey colored mirror running the length of the room above the beds. It felt like the scene for some retro-porn movie. Above the mirror was a light similar to the above-bed lights in hospitals. Our tv was mounted at a stange angle and slant above a semi built-in amoire and would cycle through various tints: blue, green, red.

The beds were comfortable. I pulled back the linen to inspect the mattress and they appeared to be fairly new. The linens were thread-bare and one of the beds had some strange stain on the top sheet. It wasn't exactly a stain as much as it looked like something may have been spilled on it that somehow resulted in an even "thinner" area in the sheet. The pillows were overly fluffy and hard and looked like they'd just been thrown on the bed. The walls are thin and our upstairs neighbor was incredibly loud. It sounded like they were kids tumbling on the floor which wasn't restfull.

The bathroom had obviously been upgraded sometime in the recent past. It had a tile tub and floor. The counter was stone with an undermount sink and updated faucet. The problem was that the grout was starting to show some mildew and for a low-end motel, they put high-maintence finishes in the bathroom which will easily (and quickly) show their neglect. The towels were unusually thin and didn't appear to absorb water too well. The water was only moderately warm with the handle set to the hottest setting.

We tried to eat the "free continental" breakfast; however the cigarette smell was overwhelming. The day we were there, i didn't see any waffles like i'd read about on the internet. There were the usual pastries, box cereal, juice, and coffee.

I would not stay here again nor would i use hotwires "secret" deals. I also feel that $65 (including taxes) to stay here was too much money.

Room Tip: The first floor is non-smoking but i'd actually suggest staying somewhere else.

Walked into a cold room and all rooms were cold. I can understand having heat turned down, but not off. Took way too long to get a warm room. Warm shower - not hot. But the worst is that they advertise a shuttle. Its not a shuttle - its a small free taxi that can barely hold 4 people with luggage. Its not on time leaving the hotel - showed up 15 min late. And, when I called to be picked up at airport, they told me to go to departures (with all of my luggage) and that it might be 30 minutes or longer - if their guy didn't have a paying gig. Spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: stay somewhere else

I stayed here one night last week when I had an early flight out of BWI the next morning. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a very friendly young man at the desk. I cant say enough of his wonderful customer sevice. Quick check in with no complications. When the door to the elevator opened to the floor of my room, I knew I had made a mistake. The walls in the hallway were old and dirty and it had a dirty smell to it, and the windows were up on each end of the hallway..obviously to keeop the smell down. My room was sub-par. The bed had only sheets. The carpets had mnay stains. The bathroom had repairs to the walls, but not painted over in the same color. The tub walls had mildew. The walls were so thin I could hear the people next door talking. When I left the room to go to my car for something, I was met in the hallway by people who looked less than admirable. The next morning before I left, I chose not to eat at the breakfast bar...the milk was not being kept cold neither was the yogurt and the bread was hard. I think some rooms must be remodeled from what I have read in tripadvisor, but I obviously didnt get one of them. There are many hotels in the area, and I will choose another one the next time I stay in this area.

I traveled with my husband and our two small children. We stayed here for about a month. We had the suite which was nice and big and came with a Queen bed and a pull-out sofa. There was a desk and a comfortable desk chair. There was a nice sized bar fridge and sink. the cable selections where lacking a lot of basic channels but there was HBO on the flat screen tv which was wall mounted. Also there was a channel dedicated to showing plane departure and arrival times. The room was clean and room service came everyday. For the most part it was quiet. We could hear every time the room across the hall and next door left or came back due to loud doors. The breakfast was fine. Fresh waffles on top of the usual dry cereal and pastry fare. I give it four stars and not five because I saw two roaches in the bathroom in our first week there.. We were moved to a different room and I didn't see another one for the rest of our stay. All in all in was a good hotel.

Stayed one night before flying out in am. We did not use there shuttle to airport or there parking. Called last minute to get room only had room with one double bed in it ,but we took it. room was very small but clean and smelled very fresh. The lady @ the front desk was very helpful and nice. There is a Chiles,TGI fridays, and wendys close by. They also have continental breakfast that starts @ 4;30am.I noticed on first floor they are remodeling ,new ceramic floors , new sinks and counter tops. We did not have a refridge or microwave in our room, but im not sure about the other rooms. I did not hear alot of noise like the other reveiws said nor did i see anything out of the way going on .I would definetly stay here again before flying out of BWI.

Location and Price, Couldn't ask for more. Transport to and from airport or Baltimore light rail station are complementary. Had a double queen room, with microwave and mini fridge. Room and Bathroom clean and fresh. No noisy neighbours. For less than $60.00 a night, kind of hard to ask for more. If your looking to stay at the Marriott, it just down the road. But if you want a good price and decent place to stay. Well you can't go wrong.

Hot and Cold breakfast available, waffles, oatmeal, and bagels. And cold cereals, juice and toast. Again for less than $60.00 a night hard to ask for more. Computers with printer in the Lobby to print boarding passes for travel. Helpful staff and Knowledgeable about the area. Great For Non-Revers.
