Just stayed in a studio king room here on July 31 with my husband and two young children. I had read on another site about a different Towneplace Suites that the studio rooms can be a tight squeeze when the sofabed is pulled out. We'd hoped there'd be more space in this new location, but it wasn't to be. We literally had to rotate the sofa 90 degrees so that the person sleeping on the left side of the king bed could get out at night to go to the bathroom; otherwise you'd have to crawl over your partner in bed. Everything in the suite was pretty much shoe-horned into the available space; for example, you couldn't have the door into the room open and open the refrigerator, because the fridge is right at the entrance to the suite. Still, the fridge was a new stainless steel Whirlpool and good-sized; there was also a microwave (no popcorn, alas) and a dishwasher, plus a few pots, silverware, dishes etc in addition to the requisite coffeemaker. The included continental breakfast was pretty basic--small yogurt cups, donuts and toast, juice (concentrated from a machine but not bad), coffee (ok though not as strong as Starbucks) and some fruit (bananas disappeared before we could get to them; apples and oranges looked like they'd been sitting there a while). There's a small, heated indoor pool which our kids enjoyed, and a variety of drinks and snacks available for purchase near the front desk. I was impressed that the staff had seen to it that extra towels were delivered in advance to the room as requested in our Marriott profile (this actually has never happened all the years I've stayed at their properties), but they provided only 1 sheet for the sofa bed (plus pillows and blanket). We didn't realize this until we came back to the room later after dinner, and when I pressed the housekeeping and front desk keys on the phone in hopes of requesting another one, I kept getting a busy signal. I figured the sole staff member who always seemed to be fielding calls and guests at the front desk must have had his hands full, so we didn't bother going down to ask for an additional sheet. When I mentioned the problem the next morning, the desk clerk said "Oh, we need to fix that problem with the phones--those buttons don't work." At that point I recalled there had been a card inserted with the sheets that said to dial "0" for additional linens, but since the phone had more specific buttons I figured I should use those instead, and never ended up trying 0. My fault, admittedly, but they should fix the buttons so people can reach housekeeping and the front desk when they need them for other matters! Also, there is pretty much zero view out the front of the hotel; on one side there's a huge pile of dirt (site of a future unidentified building), and on the other there's a Wawa market. However, our room faced out the back so we got a nice view of some trees (and part of the parking lot). Hotel is convenient to St. Mary's City and Solomons, where we got excellent steamed hard shell crabs at Stoney's Kingfisher restaurant one night. All in all I guess it was worth the Marriott Rewards stay on 7500 points, but clearly it is a pretty bare-bones Level 1 hotel. If you get a double-bedded suite there's probably more room, but I'd skip the studios. (The doubles were booked up the night we stayed, as were the handicap-accessible rooms that would have provided a bit more room to move around with 4 people.) Incidentally, the soundproofing seemed pretty good because there was a family with crying children across the hall but we couldn't hear them when our respective doors were closed.
