This was our second stay at this hotel, and will be our last. This was a former Red Roof Inn, which explains the granite counter tops in the bathroom, and the beautiful decor, minus a coffee pot. Our first stay was fine, and I noticed they had a washer and dryers for the guests to use, so on our second trip, I didn't pack as many clothes. We stayed for 5 days, and not only was the washer out of service, so was the ice machine. They were unconcerned when I told them about the washer. When I inquired when the ONLY ice machine would be fixed, I was told that it went out during the storm (which was two weeks prior to our stay), and the owner was not just "up in New York", but out of the country in India, Nothing could be done until he returned! If they can't take care of the big things, what about the little things that may go wrong? Thus my title of "Give it a Year".
Granted, it is a good value for a one night stay, but we checked out two mom and pop motels on National Highway (RT. 40) that have full kitchens, are spotless and actually cheaper. That's where we will be staying next year.More
