I called ahead to discuss the possibility of a gluten-free dinner and got helpful assistance. The manager/bartender was eager to read me the ingredient list from their BBQ sauce and alert to the "trigger" terminology. Also clear and knowledgeable about cross-contamination issues, and assured me that the grill was safe in a way that made me confident in my decision.
Our waitress was also alert to the issues of pre-made mixes and more than willing to get me the info; they discovered that the flavoring mix for the Brussels sprouts had breadcrumbs. "But we can make you some just in a pan, with butter and garlic. I know we have Brussels sprouts that haven't been treated yet."
The bartender was quick to offer the Angry Orchard's hard cider, when I was lamenting that I can't drink beer anymore.
I felt well-taken care of and safe. And the waitress and bartender were so nice and eager to help.
Add to that: The ribs were falling off the bone; their BBQ sauce was yummy, my husband's enchilada was good (and just the right amount--not too stuffed, not still hungry).
