We walked from our room at the Best Western Braddock Inn to this eatery which is just across the parking lot. We had in mind to enjoy a few drinks on the outdoor deck, than do something about dinner. As it turned out, one goes to the bar to place a drink order. Almost immediately, we fell in with a local businessman (let's just call him Chris), who is one of the most convivial gentlemen you will ever meet. He, honest to goodness, introduced us to everyone at the bar and one and all began regaling us with sagas mixed with tall stories encompassing everything about the Cumberland area from the mayor down to the PTA. Dinner was postponed. When we did eventually remember our hunger, we were presented with a surprisingly varied and reasonably priced menu. I ordered the pork steak, and my wife one of the dinner salads. Both were excellent. We were completely pleased and full to our chinny chin chins.
While we envisioned this as a one-off trip, our new friends left us looking forward to a return at some future date. When bedtime came and we prepared to leave, Chris left us with a great line. "There are no strangers in or around Cumberland, only strange ones."
