Perfect spot a few blocks off the main 301 highway. All of our food was fresh and delicious. The many choices on the menu make it impossible not to return.

The servers were impeccable, polite and attentive. The atmosphere was upscale yet casual. Ok for families with well behaved children. Good prices ranging low to high dependent on what you order.

After enjoying a great production of "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Port Tobacco Players, we walked a short distance to the El Dorado for dinner. We hadn't been for awhile and we were not disappointed. They have many different selections on their menu, including Spanish style paella. I had chiles rellenos with beef and it was delicious. They use slices of lean beef, not ground beef like many Mexican and Tex Mex restaurants do. The owner, Simon, took good care of us with excellent margaritas and great table service.

The food is good and the service is great but the actual building needs improvement, a musty smell prevails and the bathrooms need updating, borderline cleanliness. great location with clientele that's ready to return

We stopped for dinner while on a trip south based on tripadvisor reviews and a convenient stopping point. The place is somewhat run down in appearance on the inside, but not terrible. The food, however, was wonderful and the price was very fair for the quality and the portions. Chips and salsa were homemade and delicious. We tried the fried calamari, tender and not at all greasy, and the avocado dip, again freshly made and yummy. I had the Paella al Marisco which is a Spanish dish with seafood and saffron rice, it was easily the best paella I have had since traveling to Madrid many years ago, authentic flavor, cooked perfectly, nicely portioned, and delicious. I highly recommend El Dorado when in the La Plata MD area!

Finally made it here after years of "we should try that place" and so glad we did! Cute little romantic room, white linen tablecloth and napkins and a delicious meal. From the chips and salsa to both appetizers, entrees and dessert, everything was delicious and prepared perfectly. Can't wait to try everything on this blended TexMex-Spanish menu...don't miss the shrimp in garlic sauce as an appetizer! We will be back!
