Last summer (2012) I took my 2 granddaughters on the calm water tubing of the Shennandoah. They talked about it all year. This year we added their parents and other 2 grandparents. Enjoyable time by everyone.
We go during the week just before school starts and there are no crowds at all.
Because of the younger one's age we cannot go on a higher skill level of tubing.
They do provide ropes if anyone wants to be attached to another tube.
This year there had been more rain and the water flowed better than last year.
Last year we saw much more wildlife than this year............
By scheduling online there is a discount for each participant.
We will definitely be back............ with maybe even more people.

Definitely recommend this outfitters! Friendly staff, good location. Our raft guide, Chris, was very experienced, he knew exactly what he was doing, never a dull moment on the river. It makes the experience better when the guide knows the river and how to move the raft! So when you plan your next trip ask for Chris :) If you need a place to stay for the night, Hampton Inn & Suites is 5 miles away perfect location, and great property to spend your vacation, cant forget about the awesome staff as well. Happy Travels!!!

I took my teenage son and his friends white water rafting for his birthday today. It was a quick and easy ride from Montgomery County. It only took about 45 minutes to get there. The check in was efficient and we got underway as scheduled for a 10:00 am trip. Our guide Christopher C was terrific. He was very knowledgeable about the river. He had us surfing multiple waves and doing 360 spins. He kept the boys entertained with his jokes and he worked in some historical facts too. The lunch was good especially considering that it took the trip down the rapids with us. The spot where we stopped for lunch was pretty and provided a nice place to cool off in the water. The weather was perfect. Everyone in our raft had a great time.

Our familyl of four had a wonderful day on Antietam Creek. The guides especially "Larry the Tubing Guy" were very funny on the bus ride to the creek and back. The weather could not have been better. Lunch of fried chicken, salads and watermelon was a treat. The check in process was painless and very organized. This was our first time tubing on a trip of this length but we all survived. Definately would take another adventure with this tour company.

This is the "go-to" place for tubing in the area, complete with a courteous staff, reasonable prices and decent equipment. We have gone on the "mellow" tubing trip down the Shenandoah twice and enjoyed it very much - it is perfect for families with smaller children - but on our latest trip to Harpers Ferry, we went on the Class I-II float down the Potomac and had a blast. We prefer using River & Trail Outfitters over the bigger places in the area - it has a more laid back "mom and pop" feel, while still maintaining the utmost in safety and professionalism, as opposed to the competetion, which is more like the "Wal-mart" of river riding.
