Right in the middle of antique row, this place was perfect for a birthday get together with friends. Food was excellent and service was great.

While visiting Washington for the Holidays - I went to visit two college friends of mine (who had gotten married and then had kids.. funny that ;-) ) - in Kensington. As they needed the babysitter I went to them rather than have them come down to DC. They insisted they had a great little restaurant. They were right. This little French place had excellent food; while I was not entirely thrilled with the choice of a French Restaurant (as I currently live in Europe so get French food all the time and wanted something different) - I thought the menu was excellent. I really enjoyed the soup and the crab cakes; the service was excellent. All the items on the menu looked very good. I even enjoyed The Argentinian Cabernet -and normally I don't drink Cabernets. I would have enjoyed the meal in The Hague (where I live).. or elsewhere in the region. The service was very good and the owner came out and said hello and poured the limoncello (yes.. I know - limoncello at a French Restaurant... but it is America after all)...

A charming restaurant in the middle of Kensington's antique shops. Linen table cloth, fresh flowers and a gracious host and owner, Gonzala Barba greeted us. Formerly from the famous, now defunct Water Gate Hotel Jean Louis, our host guided us through the selections in the menu. We went for lunch.I had the onion soup and the fried oysters - fresh, plump with a delicate sauce - delicious! My mother had the lobster bisque and crab cake sandwich and loved it. We would go back again for dinner next time. Service was solicitous with old world charm .
