Had the clam strips. Other than them serving tartar and not seafood sauce just like outta the box at home but a bit better. Very friendly staff. Bar kind of brightly lit.

I have visited this place several times and found it to be consistently the same. They always have the Skins on if they are playing and the bar is full of fans. Nice neighborhood pub. I have tried a different sandwich each visit and they are all good. Last week I had the BBQ and ate it with a knife and fork as an open face sandwich with a side of buffalo sauce. The sandwiches run about $9 with ff. The wait staff can be a bit spotty at times. I have never had a bad experience here. The parking lot can get full especially on game days.

The bar is small but friendly, with a terrific bartender. A lot of regulars comes; it's the kind of place where the bartender remembers what you drink after just a few visits and makes you feel welcome. The food is another story, though. Stick to simple things like cold sandwiches, particularly if you're in a group (since otherwise half the orders will be cold and/or soggy, and the appetizers will come out at the same time as the entrees). The kitchen is very basic: things taste canned, even when they're not; burgers are never cooked to order; hot food ranges from ordinary (wings, onion rings) to flat out bad (chili, entrees).

This place is a dying breed, at least around the Washington DC suburbs-- its a family friendly dive---a bar with loyal regulars, and DJ and karaoke on Saturday nights, and fairly cheery dining room and some outside seating.

The food is nothing special but not awful either. Quite good homemade soups, burgers, sandwiches. Pizza is no competition for even the chains. Platters are okay, lots of fried things. But, its pretty good service, lottery tickets, generous drinks and lots of locals.

Have been there at lunch time and dinner. The staff is better during the day. I would suggest the Kensington, which is pastrami, cheese and coleslaw on whole wheat toast.
