Out of all the places in MD that say they have the best crab cake, this place backs it up. "Uncle Mike" is the recipe holder and knocked it out of the park. My parents came down from Maine and gave it a shot. My mom, who happens to be a foodie, declared it the best crab cake she's ever had.

We had a reservation at Laurrapin's for 11:00 a.m. on a Tuesday and at 11:10, they still were not open so we looked across the street and found Rodger's House Tavern. We went in and were greeted by two lovely people who made us feel welcome. Husband got the "Big A## Fish Sandwich" which was huge. He really like it and I got a cheesesteak which was very good. Great Pub food and warm surrounding. Try it, you'll like it. It is family owned.

There is also a small dining room other than the pub and pool tables as well as a nice supply of billiard equipment available for sale.

We finally decided to go here after several recommendations. This basically is a local's joint, with lots of pool tables and some hard drinking going on at the bar, and often a large crowd of people smoking right outside the door. Don't let this deter you as it is by far the best pub food in the area. Everybody was extremely nice to us despite us obviously not being the regular clientele type. There is a small dining room, but we sat in the bar area because we wanted to watch a ball game. Good service, great food, good prices, those are the reasons we occasionally eat at a pub.
